Hi all, Im new to the board, though Ive read a lot of posts and love hearing the success stories! And I know this is a multiples board but i see a lot of people asking questions about clomid so I hope you dont mind me posting here.... I have what my doctor calls a borderline case of PCOS... my periods are sometimes irregular, my ultrasound showed some cysts (but not the # needed for a PCOS diagnosis), slim, non-smoker, taking pre-natals, early 30s. We've been TTC with no luck so my doctor told me to take provera and then clomid days 3-7; funny enough, my period came on its own so i didnt need the provera and I start my first round of clomid tomorrow. I do have a few questions-- namely, i see a lot of people talking about monitoring their temps... my doctor didnt mention anything about that--she just told me to do the ovulation predictor kit. By taking your temp, what exactly are you looking for (and what is the ideal temp to look for?) Also, I see a lot of you talking about baby aspirin and robitussin---at what point would I start taking those? Answers to these questions and any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks! Ange

angettc- I recommend going to fertilityfriend.com there is not only alot of information on tracking bbt (basal body tempature) but it gives you a place to keep track of it and lessons on how to do it and what you are looking for. To give you the summary you track your bbt by taking your temp when you wake up everyday at the same time to know when you have ovulated and to see if your temp remains high from ovualtion to when your period is due that would be a strong indication of pregnancy. You need to buy a basal thermometer which you can get at walmart for about $8-$9. As far as robitussin this helps with cervical mucus b/c clomid creates thick hostile mucus which makes it hard for the sperm to travel through. Taking robitussin helps thin this. I take Mucinex though which does the same thing. I take mine a few days before I ovualte (tracking your bbt will help you see a pattern for when you normally ovulate) and then for about a week to a week and a half after. The baby aspirin is for implantation and unfortunately I do not have a lot of info on that. I hope this helps. I would like to invite you to a board thats is for women who are trying to concieve with clomid. its in this same forum and called Clomid Success stories June/July 08
