My 2 month old is only taking short naps during the day. She is very restless and fidgets a lot. Her naps are short. I am very worried! I don't know what's wrong!

My son, now 4 1/2 months, used to take very short naps, like 20 minutes, when he was that age. He slept restlessly as well during the day, though for some reason has always slept fine at night. I noticed that he'd often sleep better if I carried him or let him sleep on me in bed, so for some naps I did this just so he'd get at least one good one a day. Over the past couple of months, he's become a better napper, but he still takes 4-5 shorter naps a day. I think as they get older, their little systems get more mature, and they get to be better nappers. Just be sure you're providing an opportunity for good naps every day - calmness before napping, dark room, maybe some white noise. Don't let her get overtired. I think it's normal for some babies to have trouble napping especially so young.

If she is squirming around a lot she may be having some gas bubbles in her tummy. You could try laying her on her tummy if it's for a short nap and you can check on her frequently. My lo always slept better on her tummy when she was restless at that age.
