LeslieM - I'm here I am now in the 2ww trying to see if I am pg this cycle. Please rub your belly and send me tons of baby dust my way LOL. This cycle I took clomid/50mg on cd 3-7 and estrodoil (estrogene) 1mg 3 pills/2 times a day and I was suppose to bd cd 10-16 and starting on cd 17 start taking the progesterone gel (prochieve 8%). Well I started using my opk test strip on cd 7 and I was doing that 2 times a day I got my bfp on cd 14-16 and I only bd on cd 6, 9-13 & 16 so I hope I am good. According to FF I ovulated on cd 15 and I am now 3dpo so I can test in 9 days. Krissy68

Where did all the over 35'ers go?

I'm here! I'm 44 and due Jan. 13, 2009. I have my level 2 ultrasound on 8/11 and can't wait to find out if everything's OK and the baby's gender.

Name: LeslieM | Date: Jul 30th, 2008 1:32 PM
hi...im here. but i have to say barely. my scheduled c section is in 23 days and it cannot come soon enough. i swear, i am a wreck!!!! my hands are swollen and hurt, ive had a headache for the last 24 hours, i cry every day, heartburn, sore back...the list is infinate. im sorry...i am a baby. i have noticed that some of the BH contractions that i have had for the last 2 months are staring to feel crampy. i have dropped and at my last appt. on the 24th, the dr. said she thought the baby was already around 7 pounds. (at that rate i am going to give birth to a toddler!) i cannot help but to wonder if i will actually make it to the 22nd. yay kim! congrats. clindholm, what is your story? and krissy....how are you feeling?

Name: clindholm | Date: Jul 30th, 2008 3:38 PM
Hi Kim- good luck at your ultrasound. Are you hoping for a boy or girl? Leslie, you sound miserable. I can't believe the baby is already 7 lbs. At least with the section you won't know the difference. I hope the next 23 days go quickly for you. My story- well I'm currently totally freaked out and scared. I'm 21 weeks today and a co-worker informed me last week that her son has Parvo Virus (Fifth's Disease) and I went for the bloodwork last week and Monday, I will get the results tomorrow. Yesterday the co-worker comes in and she has the rash!!! I wanted to kill her. Now today, I'm feeling like I have a cold, sore throat etc. I don't know if just because I'm so worried or if I got this from her. I am so scared and mad. Colleen

oh colleen, please try not to worry ( i know, easier said than done) i cannot believe how totally insensitive and selfish people can be to come in to the workplace sick. that is one of my pet peeves. i would be pissed too. in fact, being pregnant and at higher risk, have you thought about going to talk to your human resources department about it? perhaps they could make your coworker stay out of the office until she gets a release from her doctor...or perhaps your doctor will give you a note to be out until she is no longer contagious? call your doctor and let then know your symptoms...i bet they can put you at ease. its going to be fine...hang in there. hugs.

Kimcat - Congrats to you and please give us updates.
LeslieM - Wow 23 days and I know you are so ready for it to be over so you can be holding your baby. I'm hanging I am cd 26 11dpo and my temp has went down some from yesterday 98.52 to 98.39 but I am still above my coverline is that still good. According to my doctor I am to test on cd 27 & 28 so I will be giving a update in the morning. I am still preparing myself for AF just in case she show up. She is suppose to be here around Aug 2-4. Rub your belly for me. Krissy68

soooooo... i just got home from the hospital and being monitored. i have been having BH contractions pretty much non stop for the last couple months. i was monitored in the office once, but everything was fine. well, today i had one that lasted 4minutes and another that lasted 8. i called L & D at the hospital and they said after questioning that since i am repeat csection to come in. well i was having quite a lot of contractions with uterine irritability in between so they called the doctor. sure enough they gave me a shot of terbutaline, then another for the pain. my contractions started again about 10 minutes later and so i was given another terbutaline shot. that stuff is awful, makes you jittery and shaky and your heart race. they havent stopped but the contractions have slowed down, plus i am not dialated, or ripened or shortened so i am home. have to go back if they become regular or i have those continuous ones again. now i am exhausted and going to bed!

Hi everyone! I am 12 weeks now and suddenly this week I went from a barely noticable belly to a "no hiding it" belly. I had started buying maternity clothes a few weeks back, but I was still able to fit in some of my old clothing. This week I haven't bothered trying to fit into my old clothes, I am wearing all maternity now. This is my first pregnancy and I was plesantly suprised to see that many of the maternity fashions are quite nice! I could even get away with wearing many of the outfits even after the baby is born. I have noticed that along with my new belly I now have pain in by back right above my butt. It feels like it is probably muscle related, but it gets real uncomfortable from time to time. I have been trying stick with my regular exercise routines and this week I took a break for a few days thinking that the exercise may be the cause for my back pain. The pain is the same either with or without exercise. Has anyone had this before? What can I do for it?

LeslieM - How are you feeling?
Hey ladies here is my update. I'm cd 28 13dpo and I decided not to test today I will wait until sunday and test cause that is the test date that FF gave me. I'm still preparing myself for AF she should be here in 1 to 3 days. My temp went down some from yesterday 98.55 to 98.39 it seem to be playing yoyo so who knows but I am 13 days above the coverline so is this a good sign? The only thing that is bothering me is I'm having a headache, cramping off and on but nothing major, peeing a little more, my lower back is killing me, I'm also craving cheese and ice cream go figure normally when AF is lurking I start craving chocolate which I haven't. I will give you all a update on Monday. Keeping my fingers cross to see some BFP. Krissy68

Hi, anyone have advice on some symptoms- and finding some relief...
1st, I'm feeling more bunged up lately- consstipated... And just want to get a bit of a handle on it before it goes into hemmroids or something like that.
2nd, I have some strange itchy rash that comes and goes. Starts on the palms of my hands, souls of my feet, then just goes wherever and everywhere. If I let myself scratch, i'll get bumps. i even feel it in my eyes if I rub them. It makes me crazy, all the itching! All I do is try not to itch, and rub anti-itch lotion all over... it's pitiful.

Hi - I'm 39 and pregnant with my first child(Due November 14). Thus far all tests have indicated a low chance of genetic problems and the pregnancy is progressing well. I am amazed by the negativity associated with pregnancy over 35. I am commonly asked if it was planned and told that my freedom is over. At age 39, my nights of bar-hopping and wild nights were already over. I certainly think that everyone is entitled to a good time at any age, but I just don't see the snag in my lifestyle for which I keep being warned. I can't wait to have a baby - it will be a breath of fresh air for me. I miss my youth but just don't see how having a baby takes it away. I am commonly told to kiss my freedom and my looks goodbye. I feel like having a baby will actually help to regenerate the quality of my life. Of course it will be hard - I just don't see the relevancy of age.

Hi Moomaiden! Wow does all that negativity sound familiar! I often joke around with people and tell them because I am 37 and pregnant that it puts me in the catagory of "freak". I could not have planned a better time in my life to have my baby. I did not meet my fiance' till I was 29. We spent the last 8 years renovating our home, going on vacations and plenty of bar hopping. We both agreed that now was the time to start trying for a family. Obviously someone up above agreed with us because we conceived immediately. I had been sick of the night life for some time now. I am so excited knowing that I am going to be a mom. To all the "friends" who think I am giving up my life.....Have another drink!!!!

Hi girls. Leslie, how are you holding up? Dogmom, how are you feeling? I was out of my regular clothes by 12 weeks too. I bought alot of non-maternity pieces that were a size too big and stretchy (they were cheaper than buying all maternity). Krissy- we are all pulling for you girls, keep us posted! Micsmms- I think just more fruits, veggies and water may help. I have heard of the rash you describe, I would mention it to the doctor, I think they have something specific that helps- hope you feel better soon. Moomaiden- wow, people should keep their negative opinions to themselves!!! I have been lucky, I have not had one person say anything negative to me. I am 39 and 21 weeks pregnant and dh and I did our share of partying for years, now that we are done with that, it's baby time without resentment! I think people are just jealous.

clindholm - Thanks but it looks like I am out this cycle again. I am still above my coverline but my temp went down some more from yesterday 98.45 to 98.28 and when I went to the bathroom this morning and I wipe it was light pink with mucus (sorry tmi) so I had my cry and got ready for work and when I went to the bathroom and check my pad it was clean but the tampon had very little blood on it so I removed it and went back to the bathroom and it was anything still on the pad but when I wipe it was real real light that I had to hold the tp real close to my face. I am having some major back and I am starting to cramp so i guess this will be cd 1 for me once she comes on full speed. I will keep you all updated oh and I did test yesterday and it was a BFN. I already have my meds ready for me this cycle so I just need to pick them up. How are you doing? Krissy68

Hello to all of us "over 35ers". I just got back from getting the results of my NT test. The risk of my baby having downs syndrome is 1 out of 2,701. Just more proof that just because we are over 35 does not mean we can not have perfectly normal and healthy babies!!!!

Hope you ladies don't mind me joining you, I am 35 and 16 wks 3 days pg. I have had a history of early m/c's, have a heart shaped uterus, and this is the furthest I have made it in my 4 pg thus far! I have been seeing a high risk doctor this entire pg, had all the testing for down's, etc (all have been normal, TG), and last week found out we are having a BOY! We are so terribly excited. I have been feeling my little one since about 12 weeks, flutters at first and now I feel definite movement. I have been in maternity wear since 10 weeks (only cuz it was comfy then), but this past week, I have really POPPED out there! My little one already weighs 5 oz (and pg book says 2 1/2 oz for my gestation age...what a chunk!). Hope everyone is having a great pg, and those ttc, I will send you sticky baby dust.+++Cyndi+++

hello ladies, i am 35, having my second, we are 7 weeks and 2 days along. This was a bit of a surprise as we hve discussed it and thought that we might try in 5 yrs time - and then it was a maybe, as right now was bad timing, i am studying my masters and about to commit to 3 yrs hard study ( yeah tis like a prison) so now i just have to rearrange that a little. had my first ultrasound today, very happy healthy baby according to the doc. My other baby is nearly 17, and this one will be due 5 days after her bday, needless to say my daughter is thrilled that she will be finally able to boss someone around and not be the baby....though it ought to get confusing around here cause her nickname is bub, my sister just had a baby 6 mths ago, now he is the new bub, and in 7 mths there will be another bub. AHH life - what would we do if it was simple. Moon maiden, dont worry about the negativity, they are either jealous or bad parents....yeah it is a tough job, but we were made to do it, and if you start out looking at it as an adventure and give it your best effort, what more can be asked, and i am sure you will get your rewards. I wouldnt trade it for anything in the world, my life isn't over, it just got more rich and i am sure everyone here will tell you the same thing. I have a very special bond with my daughter, i run a belly dance class and she is my assistant, we perform together with my sister, that is our girl thing. If this one is a girl, then we got another dancer, and if it is a boy then i guess it will be football matches and more fishing hmm unless we can get him to dance, his dad isn't in to it, he thinks cars are more interesting unless he is watching us dance. Bottom line is parenting is what you make it, i must make it fun, as i have been mistaken for my daughter's sister (he could have been trying to butter me up as my partner says, but i choose not to believe it, hehe) ....micsmms3 I have heard that prune juice is great, not sure haven't tried it myself, but if there is a need later on, i will be there. Has anyone been excessively thirsty? that is one thing that i have noticed, i drink about 2 to 3 litres of water a day, and it is the middle of winter down here???

Hi to all ladies over 35! I am 37 and pregnant with my first. I am about 10.5 weeks along. I live in LA and have not received any negativity from anyone. I think alot of it is where you live and the social pressures that exist in those areas. I am from New England and I know if I were living there, it would be alot different socially. Regardless of where you live, you need to ignore those negative folks and try not to be around them. I agree with these other ladies in that they are jealous or they have been not so good parents. Surround yourself with loving and supportive people and don't be afraid to give those negative nellies a piece of your mind:) Women were made to create a life within...be proud of who you are...hold your head high and walk away! :)

Hi Maho,
Not only do I get some negativity, I have also noticed my phone has stopped ringing. Many of the women who have stopped calling me are around my age (37) or older with no Kids. My friends who have kids all tell me that this is going to be the most wonderful thing ever. I have already told my fiance' that many of our friends will pretty much disappear from our lives when the baby is born. I really won't be missing them much while they rot their livers away at the bars.

I am new to the sight, looking for support too. I am 41 and found out yesterday I am pregnant again. I already have 7 children, from college to 2 1/2. People think I am crazy and now so do I.

Name: chelle6 | Date: Aug 5th, 2008 7:08 PM
I just read sooo many of your posts and feel that my first one will be taken the wrong way. I feel extemely blessed to have 7 children. I am just not going to have any support from family with this one. Even though my children are well taken care of and I never asked anyone for anything, I will still be talked about and criticized. I am a catholic woman who loves children and having a big family. I pray for all of the women on here to get their little blessing. I think its unfair for some women to have to try so hard to have children and for some its too easy. I am overwhelmed and just wanted to get some support. I wish all of you the best of luck

Name: deniseb | Date: Aug 5th, 2008 8:25 PM
Chelle, congrats on your pregnancy. I think it is fabulous that you are on number 8. I am number 8 in my family and my Mother was close to 40. I was loved by all my siblings and I am still called the Baby. I have not been so lucky myself, having had 7 pregnancies and one child to show for it. I am currently pregnant at age 39. We hope this one sticks. Sounds like you have had no issues...so I say it's a real blessing. Good luck and take care of number 8!!!

Name: clindholm | Date: Aug 6th, 2008 8:49 AM
Good morning ladies and welcome and congrats to chelle6, deniseb, cyndilea and aussiecat. Maho- As I said earlier, I have had absolutely no negative feedback for my pregnancy and I live in New England so I really don't think it is related to the area you live in at all. I think it may have more to do with the actual people and their lives and attitudes. Chelle- I assume by your post that this pregnancy was not planned? Why is your family not being supportive? That seems awfully cold. I hope they change their attitudes so as not to miss out on your little miracle. I hope everyone is feeling well and has wonderful pregnancies. Btw, I am 39 and 22 weeks with my second. I had my first at 37. Colleen

Hi Leslie and everyone! I'm still around but like someone else said--just barely. I mentioned before we had to move out of our house to get new floors and now the kitchen is still being remodeled but should be done soon. Stupid time to be remodeling but better now than later with a toddler and a newborn baby it would be tougher. Leslie, are you you alright??? You sound the way I was with my last pregnancy--all was fine up until the last month and I was miserable, extremely swollen, hypertensive and headachey and did I say swollen, really badly swollen. It was preeclampsia and later HELLP syndrome but don't worry, I was told that if you didn't get it the first time you're not as likely to get it the second time. I just started get bad heartburn at night, why do these things crop up at night? Baby is moving a lot and it's impossible to sleep when he's moving so much. So I'm guessing, Leslie if you haven't already delivered that you've got exactly 2 more weeks right? My c-section was supposed to be scheduled for August 19th but my doctor forgot to schedule it so my date is up in the air now---urgh! I have my weekly prenatal appointment tomorrow with a backup doctor since my doc is on vacation this week. I might just ask him to schedule it and do the c-section himself even though I've never met him before.
