I have not been exercising. I am 16 weeks along and I want to start walking or swimming. Did anyone else go from inactive to active once they became pregnant? Did you find that it helped with weight, labor, or general sense of well-being (strength, energy, flexibility...)???

As long as you don't go out and suddenly try and run a marathon you'll be fine. I would definately start walking and swimming. Yuur body has quite an ordeal a head and will need strengthing so any form of gentle exercise is fine. Just don't over do it or do anything in excess. Having a nice walk in the fresh air can only do you good. I'm not medically trained but have exercised all my life and was unfortunate that with my last pregnancy I couldn't exercise due to SPD sympathis pubis dysfunction. Just take it steady everything in moderation.

it's never too late to start. Then keep it up after the baby and the next time you get pregnant you'll be used to exercising! Start slow but try to get at least 30 min of cardio in at least 5 days a week. Just walk at a fast pace if you can. You don't have to do too much just be sure to keep your heart rate up
