I lost my baby at 12 weeks 3 weeks ago and am planning to try again asap. Have any of you lost your baby and are now currently pregnant? I want details and positiveness! How long did it take you? How far along are you now? When are you due? Did you miscarry twice? I love hearing stories from others in the same boat.. ↓

I just had my second M/C, so sorry that I don't have a good story. One piece of information, check out the forums on MTHFR. You may want to be tested or at least do the extra folic acid, etc, if you are going to try again. I am beating myself up for not knowing about MTHFR after the first M/C because now I feel like taking a couple extra pills a day may have helped me. ↑

I lost my baby at 10 weeks and then concieved again the second cycle after my miscarriage. I took progesterone the second time around right away and I believe it helped since they couldn't find any other reason for me to miscarry the first time. I did have a bad subchorionic hematoma with the second pregnancy and almost lost my baby again, but I have no idea if that is related to how soon I got pregnant or not since it happens with women who also have never had miscarriage. My little girl pulled through with lots of prayer and faith and bed rest and she is now a beautiful little 7 month old girl. Good luck! ↑

I just had my 2nd miscarriage two, I was only 5 weeks along. My first m/c the heartbeat stopped at 8 weeks and I had to have a D&C. The 2nd one expelled naturally and it just felt like my period was 10 days late. I swear that one was a chemical pregnancy. I did get my progesterone levels checked and they turned out quite low so next time I get pg the doctor said she would put me on prometrium. She was very insistant that that was the reason why I misscarried twice, but both were so different that I am not so sure. However I have started taking extra folic acid a day along with vitamin B6 as I heard that helps. So we'll see. Just in the three cycle wait now until we can start again. ↑

Margie - How did you get a doctor to pay attention to you after the first M/C. After my first one, they made me feel like it was just a whatever and I should get over it. Same with my second M/C. The two doctors I've seen pretty much say that you have to hvae 3 M/C to try anything different. I'm so frustrated. ↑

Charmary - Same question to you. How did you get the doctors to do anything out of the norm? I haven't been tested for anything other then my thyroid level. Is the progesterone test just a blood test? ↑
Name: margie | Date: Jul 9th, 2008 12:27 PM
Kendalyn-they should test you for these things all along when you are pregnant through blood tests, I would ask them what all your levels were. The doctor just gave me the progesterone, he thinks that is why I miscarried since there no other chromosome problems that came back from the lab (i had a d&c so they were able to examine the remains for problems) many women with infertility, implantation failures and/or miscarriages produce low levels of progesterone and taking a supplement can help, of course its not a guarantee by any means, but its a preventative measure. It worked for me and I want to be put on progesterone for further pregnancies as well since I don't want to take a chance, it's not worth it. It is true that a lot of doctors have that rule about the 3 m/cs...i think that's rediculous, do they know how completely devastating it is to go through 3 miscarriages and then to find out later there is something that could have been done to save them? But that is the official medical rule I think. I am just lucky that I have a very caring doctor, he sat down and talked to me when I found out that I was miscarrying and told me it wasn't my fault, nothing I did, he just was very comforting. Unfortunately many doctors are not that way...they should try to come on these forums and see what we go through and it's not so easy to just "get over it". Since this was what they think my problem was, the only thing I really know about is trying progesterone therapy to prevent m/c and if you can't you can buy over the counter progesterone cream although I'm not sure how it works?? You might want to post another thread for that since I know there are some ladies on here that have used it. I think that and taking the extra folic acid are all worth it to try on your own at least if you cant find a good doctor in time. ↑

Kendalyn - When I went to confirm my 2nd pg the Doc said lets do a Blood Test to check my progesterone levels as well as find out my blood type. I didn't even know that low progesterone was an issue during pregnancy. Anyways my results came back quite low and I was started on Prometrium but I m/c the very next morning so it was too late. When I went back to see her I asked if I could get tested for MTHFR and ATP(?) the anitbodies thing and she said that it wasn't really nessecary to test for that right now as she was sure it was just a Progesterone thing. However I am wondering if I should go back and demand to be tested for it because I don't want to go through this a third time before she actually does anything about it. 2 m/c's is not considered recurrent and just a fluke, its only when you m/c a 3rd time is when Doctors really start to take notice.
Just to add to that, I am now taking extra Folic Acid, Vitamin B6 and B12 on top of my pre-natal supplement as I heard it could help prevent m/c's. ↑

Kendalyn- I read the info about MTHFR and spoke to doc. If i m/c for a 2nd time, we'll look into it further but we know why i m/c'd. Most women don't. i had an internal u/s done and the tech saw that the baby's internal organs were being built on the outside of it's body. The only thing in the right place was the brain in the skull. So mine was a chromosonal problem. Something that could not be helped or altered in any way. sperm and egg didn't gel well from the start. But thanks for the advice. ↑

Hello ladies - Update that I had a D&C yesterday and they are sending it to see if they can find out the problem. Good news is I finally found a proactive doc who is going to do a full test up on me before I try again. She also thought it was crazy that many docs won't do anything until 3 M/C. She did her residence with a doc who's wife had MTHFR and he always tested people with M/C even after the first one. Her point is exactly what Charmary said....why wait to be tested when you could find out if something is wrong and prevent it from happening again. So for those of you with two M/C and want some testing, find a doc that will do it. I did and feel so much better. Now I just have to wait for my hcg levels to be normal again for the testing. I am for sure going to ask for this progestrone testing ASAP when I am preggo again....thank you so much for that information. Good luck to you all! ↑

I'm glad to hear that you found someone to help you and that your procedure went well! ↑
Carrie, I'm sorry you had to go through that, and especially at 12 weeks. I found out that i had had a missed miscarriage at 10.5 weeks, and had the actual miscarriage on April 17th. First period was 5 weeks later and got pregnant two weeks after that. I am now 7weeks 4 days, I saw the heartbeat a week ago, so far so good. Let me know what happens with you! ↑
ObsessingJulia: That's unreal. How great that it happened so quickly and you are pregnant again so soon. It's good to finally have someone respond to my question too. So you were 10.5 weeks? That's quite far too. It's five weeks since D&C now and still no sign of period. It's going to be weird having one after not having one for nearly 4 months. Do you have any other kids? Have you m/c'd before? ↑

I miscarried at 12 weeks 3 days as well last January. I could tell it was chromosomal.. When I saw the babies face the eyes were not right.. It's hard to explain.. everything was just crooked and my baby fell apart inside of me. It sounds awful and it still stings (This was Jan. 07 btw). But I went on to have a healthy daughter in November that year after getting pregnant in March. I had my first period five and a half weeks after losing the baby. Then I got pregnant after that. I just gave the pregnancy to God and enjoyed it as best I could. It stuck and she is a beautiful 7 month old now. I am pregnant with number 2, (15 weeks and 4 days), and when I asked my doctor how common it is for miscarriages like that to happen she told me in first pregnancies it is more common than in others. I do hope for a healthy baby for you soon! I have a feeling you will have one one day. I know I can be super optimistic but it is true. ↑

Hello mustangcassie
I am new to this site, and i find this site very helpful and intersting.
I am sorry about your miscarriage, But i know how you feel, i had 3 misscarriages. I had one at 15wks, 19wks and 20wks, with the last one i was diagnosed with incompetent cervix, i had a cerclage in placed. Right now after 6mnths, i am now 19 1'2 wks prego, and my high risk doctor had done another cerclage and i get the progestrone shots weekly, so far so good, i would recommend that research and found out if anything that you need to do before gettin pregnant again, i know losing 1 baby is hard but losing 2-3 is even harder. I did alot of research and found the best high risk doctor in my city. ↑

Heavenismine. That's unreal. You fell preg quite quickly. It's been 5 1/2 weeks for me and still no LH surge or period. It's great about your daughter too. Congrats. Thanks for all the info. Every little bit helps. ↑

marvelren. Welcome to the site. it's been so helpful for me in the past year or so... My husband and i have been planning to get pregnant for over a year now and I am constantly researching. I recommend everyone should know EVERYTHING. Knowledge is power. This was my first miscarriage and we know that I was carrying the baby fine. It was a chromosonal problem.
You have suffered more than most with your pregnancies and I could never imagine the strength you need to overcome such huge emotional hurdles in your life. But like me, you seem to jump straight back on the horse! That's fabulous. I hope you see this preg to full term. Keep me in the loop. Thanks again for sharing your experiences with me. Cass. ↑

I had a m/c June 15/08, it was natural, and took a couple days for everything to come out. I had my beta's followed weekly and as of July 9 they were under 5, although I have my suspisions they were just after my last beta's the week before that. Anyways, this Friday July 18 I got a BFP!!
I don't know how far along I am, I guess about 4.5wks, but that's just by how I"m feeling. I'll let you know if everything goes well!! ↑

I got my first beta back yesterday afternoon and it was 98.... Low, but my doctor thinks I'm still really early. I had another beta done today and will have another done on friday to make sure the numbers are doubling. Wish me luck ladies... I'm trying so hard to stay positive but it's hard. ↑
First, I am sorry for all of the losses you ladies have experienced. I have had quite a few m/c. First one was a blighted ovum at 6 weeks in May 2006, second one was at 8 weeks in Aug 2007 (hwe had seen it on u/s twice with low heart rate and then it just stopped beating). My doc decided to test after 2 losses, blood work was good, had a HSG to look at my uterus, while waiting on these results, had a chemical PG October 2007, then was diagnosed with a divided uterus. I had surgery to correct the divide in Nov 2007. Got pregnant April 2008, went to ER at 6 weeks with a massive bleed, found out I had lost a twin and am now 15 weeks with a healthy lil peanut! It is hard to go through all the loss and pain, it has been an emptional rollercoaster, but I would do it all over again to finally have a baby one day. I am due in January and am SO excited. ↑

Cassie...Hi! I was just reading your post and was wondering if you got a BFP yet? I just wanted to share my story with you. I miscarried this past March 13th. I was 8 weeks pregnant. I decided to do it natural and ended up bleeding for about 6 weeks straight! I am currently 15 weeks pregnant now. I am due on Valentines Day. I got a BFP 10 days past ovulation. I'm so thankful and excited! ↑
