Is this a normal amount...

So, I'm pumping 2-3 ounces every 2-3 hours. Is that about normal? My little one is 2 weeks old, and I know they start eating more as they get older so I'm worried that in the future I won't produce enough. I bottle fed my first child so I don't know a lot about breastfeeding. I really want it to work out and I don't want my milk to go away. Also, I use a pump throughout the day to make sure I empty my breast completely, and I give him the breast at night- if that helps. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thats a good amount. BFing is a supply & demand system. As long as you pump completely every time your LO eats a bottle of EBM, you will be fine. If you feel you need to up your supply just add more pumping sessions throughout the day. The more you take out, the more you make. HTH! GL & KUP!

That's a really good amount! I couldn't get nearly that much out when my little one was 2 weeks old. She is now 2 1/2 months old, exclusively breastfed, and weighs 13 pounds so don't worry your milk totally catches up with the baby as long as you keep pumping. Whisper is absolutely right-- the more you pump or feed, the more you will make.

That's a good amount for 2 weeks PP. You are doing great. keep it up. BFing is based on supply and demand. The more you pump, BF, the more you produce.

Thanks guys! I've just really heard horror stories of people milk drying up and I don't want that to happen.
