Hi girls! I can't believe we are finally here! I said that about the third trimester too, didn't I? lol...well, I'm already needing so much help being a first time mom so I thought it would be good to get us started here for those who have delivered their precious babies already.

Hi! Congratulations to all of the July mommies on behalf of one of the prestigious members of the December mommies club, hehe. I especially wanted to come on here though and congratulate you Stef, it makes me smile to think of you finally being able to have a baby that you can hold and love....lord knows you deserve it after all that you have been through! It doesnt seem long ago that I was on the first trimester and then unforunately the pregnancy loss boards together with you and now we both have our little girls. Now that you are through the pregnancy worries and joys, welcome to the worries and joys of motherhood! :-)

Stef I can't believe it!! Im so excited to be a mommy...I just can't wait to actually take Brooklynn home and do it on my own...should be only 5 or so more days YAY I just can't wait its so hard to see her in NICU all hooked up. But she is doing soooo much better. And she doesn't have Meningitus...at least thats what the tests say sooo far =D How is lil Ava doing? And how is breast feeding going for you...Brooklynn has caught on very well...and it doesn't hurt at all for me so far. Crossin my fingers that it wont later to much. Well can't wait for us all to get here.

Margie, thank you so much! Yes I know it's amazing how far we've come!!! :) CHARLI, I'm so so so relieved to hear that Brooklynn is doing so well! Hang in there as it's all going to be fine and she'll be home soon. And stick with the breastfeeding! The dr. told me today that the worst days for nipple soreness if you get it is like days 5-7 and I'm just coming out of it. It kills when she latches, but I'm doing it no matter what as it's so good for them. Anyways, off to change a diaper and feed again!

precious- do u still have that rash--? sounds like what u had was a rash that you get from uterus infection ( i had that with kelsey. ? but it could be totally something else.)

Oh and I wanted to say that I am terrible about burping because I'm so impatient. I have a hard enough time sitting still for the feedings and then when I burp I try only for like a minute tops. She usually burps pretty quickly but if not then I usually don't keep trying until she does. She now spits up a lot more though since my milk is all in. She doesn't spit up though until like 15 minutes or more after I've finished feeding her. I hate it because in the middle of the night I am too tired to wait to see if she will spit up and I am so scared of her doing it while sleeping (which she ends up doing all the time).....it scares me so much.

Hi ladies! Nathaniel was born on the 17th at 5:50pm. We came home today. I posted my birth story on the 3rd tri board. The breastfeeding is going well, just a little sore, but nothing too bad. Our first pediatrician appointment is scheduled for monday.

hi everyone! i had my baby boy 20 days ago on the 1st july . he was 3 weeks early, i expected him to be over due but guess he wanted to come out! i woked up at 2am when my husband came into the bedroom after a night playing games online. i was laying in bed when i felt a huge kick down there and it really really hurt! i told hubby that it must be a punch cos it was in front og my pelvis and baby is lying head down, he argue saying its a kick and babies cant punch when they are in there. i sat up thinking maybe my waters broke, went to the toilet but there was nothing, went back to bed, about 5minutes later the contractions started , from then on everything went so quick! in ten mins i was on i floor in huge pain barely able to speak to the nurse on the phone. i rang my mum to come to look after my other kids. she lives 2 mins from me but i couldnt believe it took her abt 10mins to come over! (found out she had to pack her lunch for work as well). by the time she arrived hubby and i was already packed and waiting in the car. lucky we live 15mins from the hospital and being late in the middle of the night means we got there alot faster. when we got to the emergency room hubby ran in to tell the nurse i was in labour, they told him to turn around and go to the front entrance. one of the male nurse came out to have a look at me in the car, i guess by my face expression he could tell i was in great pain so he ran back in to get a wheel chair and wheeled me up to the delivery suite. i had a couple of contraction on the way up, lasting 60 secs and 1 min apart. In the delivery room i hop on the bed, the nurse fix the monitor on me. she asked me when did my waters broke? i was like " my waters never broke yet!". she explained that it broke but probably babys head block water from coming out thats why i didnt know. after that she told me "ok ,open your legs if you want baby to come out." in total confusion i asked her if i was 10cm yet and she said "yes, now you just have to push cos this baby needs to come out, its in distress". after pushing that seems like to be like forever ERIK LE was born weighting 2.5kilos, at 3.20am. From the time i got to hospital till baby arrived my labour lasted 20mins. Because of the quick delivery Erik was born purple and blue! he didnt cry until the midwife massaged his back. he also poo as the midwife pulled him out and gave me my first golden present on my chest! as since he is born he seems to love pissing on me! i have caught quiet a few piss and poos from him already! the first few days he really scared me because his whole face was purple and bruised, his lips was blue. he had a huge purple bruise going along his spine and on both arms. he was quiet a shocker! he came home on tuesday after spending 15days in newborn care unit (its intensive care unit for newborn babies).

Congratulations girls!!! :) How is breastfeeding going for those of you doing it? Mine is getting better I think, but then bam, Ava mixes it up and decides to latch on strangely for a day or so. I really hope my nipples toughen up soon. It's almost 2 weeks now and still I'm in a lot of pain when she first latches on. AFter that it is better than it used to be.

Stef, I am having trouble with the feedings as well. The latch is okay, it is my supply I am worried about. He feeds and then falls asleep, so I take him off, wake him up and put him to the other side, where he shortly does the same thing again. I try to wake him up, to switch him to the other side again, but sometimes he won't wake. I am worried that he isn't getting the fluids he needs. But then again it could be that he is getting what he needs and is content enough to sleep? I guess I will find out tomorrow at his first pediatric appointment. I am just disappointed that we won't be seeing our regular pediatrician, he is on vacation until wednesday and I don't want to wait that long. The doctor we will be seeing is okay, I just don't have the relationship with him like I do with Dr. Kierum. I think I will make another appointment to see him on wednesday when he returns, just for my own comfort level. Is latch the only issue for you? MARI, congratulations to you! I know it is scary when things don't go normally. Our son was born on the 17th. The cord was wrapped so tightly around his neck that my OB had to clamp and cut it before he was completely delivered. The vacuum had to be used and he was very, very pale. It took a good 20 minutes to really get him crying and to pink-up. I was scared, his heart rate dropped so low that you wouldn't hear it for several seconds. Now, he is perfect, and an angel. I am so glad your little one is alright.

Mandi, Ava totally does the same thing. She is a lazy eater I guess, lol. She starts like a madwoman and then falls asleep. I constantly have to poke her and stroke her cheeks. Basically out of 20 mins. on one side she probably only feeds 10 to 15 mins of it! I think she is gaining ok though. I will know more at her next appt. Wed. where she is having a weight check.

Hey! I keep going to the third tri too just to check it out, but I'm gonna try to keep coming here regularly. I know it is going to take us all a bit to get adjusted to having new babies and maybe our thread will pick up after a month or so? I hope!!! :)

Name: Charlibabe | Date: Jul 22nd, 2008 8:23 PM
Hey Girls. Brooklynn does the same thing while breast feeding she falls asleep and wont wake up...I to am afraid she isn't gettin enough but I assume she is cuz she is still gaining weight and is going to the bathroom the right amount of times...OH And Brooklynn is home..we got home YESTERDAY Im soo happy! She is totally over this all. Im so grateful. She does have a blood clot on the right side of her brain but the doctor says its nothin to worry about and it will absorb very quickly...so yay for that I dont need anything else to worry about!! So how is bein a mommy for everyone else? Im LOVING it Brooklynn is such a good baby. She loves to socialize and everything and doesn't really cry much. Well I'll check in later hopefully..

Hey girls - I am so relieved to learn tha t all of our babies are doing the same thing as far as feeding goes. My Megan's little face is not as chubby as it used to be but she sleeps so well at night I can't believe she's not getting enough milk from me - I did a test to see if she was getting enough or not but I really think she's just having a growth spurt. I gave her 2 oz of formula to see if she would be more satisfied and she was just as hungry just as fast so if in another week she is still cluster feeding I'll head back to Mommy and Me (lactation clinic) and see what is up - there is always milk as far as I can see thru that NUK nipple I am still using. I have latched her on my breast directly. She feeds anywhere from 15-20 mins at a time passes out for about 30-40 mins then wants the other breast - ALL DAY long ....at night though she sleeps in 4 hour intervals so I guess I'll just feed her like that during the day until I can't stand it. She usually takes a nap after her bath she is sleeping now - I just love my time with her I know it will soon come to an end as I am looking for a job. :( but we coiuld really use the money. ok girls glad to hear that TIEN you had your baby...and that soon Brooklyn will come home. JULIA - see a regular doctor and get that rash checked out ...STEF - enjoy your time of feeding Ava - if you try to time it and give her 30 mins to eat you will drive yourself nuts and your impatience will transfer to Ava - I was like that with my last baby and I regret not enjoying my time with him more and put him on formula quickly because I was so antsy too....ok girls I hope to check in more later JULIA - Lia is so cute! I know you are so happy.

Hi girls! Tina so glad you posted! Hey all, I put up new pics on my piczo site of Ava. I'm going to my mom's tomorrow through Sunday so I may not log on...her internet connection is spotty and sometimes it doesn't work when I'm there so if it does I will check in. I will have more time to chill since I know my mom will want to have Ava as much as possible, lol :) Well, my little piggy actually has been sleeping now for a long time and I think I actually have to wake her to eat since she is sleeping soundly on daddy's chest. I hate to do it, but I think we are going on 3 or 4 hours now, yikes!!! Hope you all are doing well...Tina keep me posted on the bf'ing issue. I am doing the cluster feeding too for the most part (until this evening) but I know it is going to start up again tonight.

hey girls - I have a suggestion for those of you who think you have fussy or gassy babies....during the day when you can watch them closely - lay them on their bellies - Megan normally is a little fussy after eating even after she burps so today just for the heck of it I laid her on her belly and she went right to sleep so I think Kendra may have been on to something - I co-sleep with her and night and she likes being on her side then. I know they say on their backs is safest and maybe so for nighttime stick with that but during the day when you can watch them closely try some tummy time to see what they do - if they are awake it will help them strengthen their little necks. I still have a sleepy breastfeeder but I haven't really found anything to cure cluster feedings from what I have read it is usually brought on by a growth spurt and that babies can grow 1/2 inch in 24 hours = wow that sure explains why they are so hungry/needy . ...just go with the flow - and sometimes they don't know they are full and nurse and nurse until they spit up so girls I guess we just have hang in there.

Hi ladies. I am a mess. I am crying all the time, and doubting my ability to be a good mommy once my husband returns to work on Friday. I doesn't help that I am still having pain and out of pain pills. I am going to call for a refill in the morning. I just don't like taking them. They don't make me loopy or anything, I just don't like taking pills. I am one of those people who waits until the pain is really bad before taking anything. I know that is bad. I lost my cool with our daughter this evening and yelled at her. It really scared her and I feel horrible about it. I appologized to her quickly, but the damage was already done. Then later I was crying to my husband and it woke her up. I went to put her back to bed and she wanted me to lay down with her. I did and she kept stroking my hair and saying, " it's okay mama ". I am worried about PPD.
