I've been reading on and off on this sight for a while and decided I needed to find some other women who are in my same position, everybody here seems so nice. I am 39 years old ttc my 3rd. I have a much older daughter and a 19 month old son. We decided to go for it again and have another so that I wont have two sets of "only children". I am currently on cd 12 and I had a positive opk on cycle day 10. I guess that makes me 2 dpo? I'm not sure how all of that works... I'd love to have some friends to chat with and share this journey ~ cheers ~ ↓
jojosmom - Welcome to the group and good luck to you this cycle. How long are your cycles and are you taking any meds and most important did you bd? I am 40 and I ttc # 5 I would love a son I have all girls. I am currently on cd 7 and I just took my last clomid pill then starting on cd 8-12 I will be taking estrodoil and I will start the opk testing on Monday that will be cd 10. Keep me updated and I will do the same. Have A Great Weekend. Krissy68 ↑
Hi Krissy - thank you for the warm welcome. My cycles last anywhere between 26 and 28 days but I seem to have a lot of spotting about 4-5 days before af arrives. I am not taking any meds and I haven't with either kids, just prenatals. I had an HSG before I got pg with my son so I guess that was 2 years ago and I have some blockage in one tube so most likely I only have 1 viable tube. We decided to just let it go since the other tube was nice and clear and I am ovulating it just takes me longer to get pg since I have about 1/2 the chance as someone else who has two open tubes. I was actually kind of shocked that I ovulated this early, I don't remember when i was temping before ever ovulating this early. How old are your kids? Can I ask why you are taking clomid and what is the estrodoil for? I've had some friends who have done IUI and IVF but I still am learning about the medications and what their use is. We aren't too far off on our cycles. Let me know how the testing goes. I'm off to bed, its getting late here and the toddler will probably wake me up early. Talk to you soon. ↑
hi jojosmom and krissy
i'm back online after taking a bit of time off the forums. i need 'everything in balance' as they say. but i saw your post and thought this wold be good cycle for me to to ride out with some pals and maybe provide some support too - so thank you for starting it!
i got positive OPK cd 13. not sure if I o'd on cd13 or cd14. i also use CBEFM. so anyway. I'm DPO1, which means we are about 3 days apart I think?
i'll check in later this week to see how you are doing - 2ww is no fun! i'm ttc no. 1 at 41 on cycle 4. just had round of tests and dh is headed for his s/a this week. we have RE appointmetn to go over results end of this month
Hello!!! I'm fairly new to Pg over 35 forum (asked questions before) but have been chatting on problems getting pg for almost a year. I'm 36 and have been ttc #2 for almost 2 yrs. I've tried natural, pills, injections and now trying herbs and acupuncture. I have a high fsh (19) and its made things really hard. jojosmom- Its good to know that you got pg in late 30's. Hopefully you will get pg again really soon.Did you used any pills or injections to get pg with your son? Krissy68- What does estrodoil do? Is it estrogen? Clare41- I use CBE opk's. Is the monitor supposed to do something different? ↑
Hello to everyone thought id pop in and say hi, i am also ttc#5 and not having much luck this time around, krissy how did you get your doc to prescribe clomid im a bit nervous to go and ask cause he will probably question the fact that i already have conceived previously although the last 2 took 8 years with a few m/c in between i dont think i am o'ing this time around i am only guessing i did by the increase in cm around cd16 and a slight rise in temp but nothing obvious, fertility friend keeps telling it cant detect o'ion i am now cd 25 and i think this time if nothing happens i will take my charts back to the doc and see what he can do because of my age i really dont have 8 years left to be patient, do you think he will listen to me and maybe run test? if you have any information i can use at my doc visit that would be great thanx, ↑
Hello all - its great to see everyone joining us on this thread. Hi Clare41 - I used the CBEFM monitor when ttc my son. This time I'm only using the CB Opk's. My dh had a s/a done a couple of years ago, he had to do it 2x but everything turned out fine. Its me with the issues. Tooth fairy - I'm using the CBE opk's too. I got a smiley face super early so I have no idea what's going on this month. I'm on cycle day 15 today. The 2ww seems like forever. I got pg with my son when I was 36 and had him when I was 37. We started trying about 3 or 4 months ago but have had to only go at it half way because my husband had some health issues. Now were ready to try more regularily. Little angelz- You said that you aren't sure if you're ovulating, are you doing opk's or just the basil temping? I completely understand how you feel about not having 8 years left. I feel like my biological clock isn't just ticking, its going BONG, BONG, BONG. Hopefully it will work soon for all of us. What ages are your kids? Hi Krissy - I hope you had a good weekend and let us know how you're doing. Talk to you all soon ~ ↑
jojosmom - I just turned 40 in June, I have all girls and their ages are 19,(turning 20 in Sep) 17(turning 18 in Aug), 14, 3(turning 4 in Oct) Just to help me out I guess because of my age. I am still ovulating on my own but my dh have low sperm. estrodoil is estrogen. I will keep you updated. I'm on cd 10 and I have until cd 12 to finish taking the estrodoil. I can't wait to finish taking these little blue pills they are getting on my last nerve and to me the s/e are worse then the clomid LOL.
clare41 - I am so glad you are back thanks for updating us. Keeping my fingers cross for you. When are you doing your hpt? I can't take mines until july 31. I am now taking the estrodoil and I will be so glad when I am done. LOL
tooth fairy - you are right it is estrogen
littleangelz - Well I turn 40 in Jun and I also told him I don't have time to be waiting I need some help and plus I have been trying for a year I think if you are over 35 and have been trying for 6 months they (well some dr) will start you on clomid. When you take your chart back just tell him you would like to try clomid and see what happens. Good Luck to you. Krissy68 ↑
hi everyone, jojosmom thank you for the support it means alot to me to be able to share frustration with people who can absolutly understand this torture we go through, i have been using opt's (just the cheapo ones) and i didnt even get a surge, i was doing the bbt, noting cm changes and i also have one of those ferny things which only gave me a partial fern but you can only do those in the morning before you eat or drink, if it gave a valid response in the evening i might of caught it, i have been taking vitex and folic acid, we bd every other day when i notice cm changes but it would help a little bit if i new roughly what day i was aiming for, but im cd26 and i think 10dpo so i was going to risk a hpt in the morning to see how i go, your cd16 today right? how many dpo are you? when will you be able to test? i agree this 2ww does seem more like a 2 month wait i get so anxious i probably frighten the pore little been away lol. it will work for us i know it, we just need to hang in there im sure god is choosing the right little angels to send our way. krissy thanx im going to make a doc appointment and i guess ill just tell him like it is and if he doest agree with well it will be back to the drawing board for me but it still wont make me give up we will keep trying with or without his help i guess, good luck to everyone and we will talk soon ↑
hi gang.
thanks for the welcome. i'm 2dpo adn i can tell this is going to be looooooooong 2ww. never mind i'm headed for first RE appointment next Monday. AND dh has first S/A tomorrow.
UGH.
anyone else had FSH test? Mine is 11. I'm so hoping it clicks this month before we have to go down RE path!
i'll be checking in to see how people are doing. I also use CBdigital (smiley faces) and the CBFM (both-nuerotic!)
Hello all - I had to quit temping and using the fertility monitor because they were making me crazy. I was soooo obsessed that it made having sex with dh very stressful. He hates all of the "tools" for ttc so it made our lives much more pleasant to not use them. I broke down this month and bought the opk tests though but didn't tell him I used them. It didn't make me feel out of control at all, in fact since I seemed to "O" so early this month I'm glad I did it. Does the ferning thing really work? I don't know if I could figure it out, all of these tests are so confusing. I think I may be 5 dpo? I'm not sure since how quick do you ovulate after getting the smiley face? I guess af isn't due until the 26th or 27th so I still have a long wait ahead of me. We have a couples wedding shower this friday and were sending our oldest off to camp Friday morning too so hopefully that will keep me busy. Someone tell me again what the FSH testing is for? I'm off to take my daughter to get her hair done but I'll check back again soon to see how you all are doing. ↑
Krissy68- What are you taking the estrogen for? clare41- My fsh is 19 so your a lot lower than me. I've been trying to lower it. jojosmom- fsh is follicle-stimulating hormone and it basically tells you the state your ovaries are in. They like to see under 10 but as we age we lose quantity and quality of eggs. That doesn't mean your not going to get pg, it just means it will be harder. I've been trying for almost 2 yrs and I'm not giving up. Keep me posted on your progress everyone. Baby dust!!! ↑
hi everyone! this feels like just the right thread for me right now! wow. i'm so grateful.
i'm 41 and ttc no. 1 and my dh is going in for s/a tomorrow. (he's really looking forwrad to that!) wish us luck! (we actually suspect there could be problem due to a thyroid condition)
anyhow, toothfairy--the monitor doesn't do anything much different, EXCEPT it detects a 2nd hormone and allows for 4 or so "high" fertility days before your "peak" -- but the OPK sticks, I think, due a better job of nailing down the 12-24 hours before because I'm not sure I ovulate on the first peak day or the second on the monitor.
i like it because i can track my high and peak days and it helps me plan BD--sort of.
there is a web site peeonastick where this woman has all the info on the differences between OPKs and monitors, etc. kind of interesting...
anyone else here waiting on S/A before? good luck to all and baby dust to all and yes I keep hearing stories of people getting PG wiht all sorts of FSH levels so let's go get em! ↑
Hey ladies - nothing new going on here. I don't feel very good today but it could just be anxiety. I never had m/s early so I'm sure I'm just neurotic. Thanks for the info on what FSH levels were. Now I have to worry about my egg quality and my graying hair....what a glamorous life!! :) Clare- how did the S/A go? Waiting for the results is always a form of torture, but knowledge is power. You can do something if the results aren't favorable and you can move on to other tests if they're fine. Their tests are the easy ones... Toothfairy - what cycle day are you? I'm so trying to not get my hopes up this month. I hate the disappointment. I should probably start spotting anytime this weekend though if af is going to show, that seems to be my usual m.o. these days. I swear my calendar is not moving along one bit. I'm off to the dentist tomorrow. I broke my tooth the other day on a cherry pit! They are repairing it in the morning. Okay, I've got to run but hello to all! Update us all soon on how its going and I'll check in tomorrow ~ ↑
jojosmom - How are you doing today and did they fix your teeth and give you some good meds. I'm keeping my fingers cross that AF stay away from you.
Clare41 - How did the S/A go? How are you feeling and whe are you going to test?\
tooth fairy - My dr has put me on the Procheive 8% (progesterone gel) treatment plan and it goes like this, 50mg clomid cd 3-7 then 1mg estrodoil (estrogene) 3 pills 2 times a day and start to bd on cd 10-16 and then starting taking the progesterone gel on cd 17 and keep taking it until either AF show up or I get a BFP and keep taking until I am 10wks and the last step is to take the hpt on cd 27 & 28. I should get AF between Aug 2 -4. I will keep you updated. If you want more information on this treatment plan you can google procheive 8% and it will give you the same information I just gave you. I hope this help you out. Krissy68 ↑
Hello - I did get my tooth 1/2 way done. The did the mold and temporary cap for the very back molar, ouch! My jaw hurts from all of the manhandling. I got some tylenol 3 for pain so hopefully in 10 days I'll get my new tooth in and this little drama will be over. It already feels better though. I'm wondering about Clare too? Come on soon and update us on the recent round of testing. Nothing new with me, I'm just nervous everytime I go to the bathroom that I'll find some spotting. So far nothing, but it could happen anytime in the next couple of days. I hate this part of the wait. When the spotting starts, I'm just anxious for af to start so I can begin again. What a long waiting game. Wouldn't it be great if someone got a BFP this month?? It would be a wonderful way to start out this thread. Okay - I've got to make a Costco run for diapers. I only have 3 left!! Talk to you all soon ~ ↑
Great news Clare. When do you think you'll break down and test? Well, I started spotting yesterday so af is just a few days away. I think my cycles are getting really short. What should I try? Any vitamins you guys know of? I don't want to go to the dr yet. Were off to the zoo I'll check in later. ↑
Thanks for your support. I think the only good thing about having this spotting before af is that at least I don't have to be anxious anymore this cycle. I can just have a glass of wine with dinner and wait for the inevitable. I hope you are all doing well and I'll check back in with you soon. ↑
hi guys, did a CD8 test and BFN. Trying not to POAS until CD 14. (It's CD 9 or 10 now)
But I have been POAS OPKs and there are totally negative so I'm thinking I'm out this month.
How about you guys? We have lto sof 2ww still in? GL! ↑
Hey all...af arrived this morning. Yuck, so I guess I'm back to cd 1. I hope the rest of you have better luck than me this month. Nothing much going on here today, dh is playing poker tonight and I'm on my own with the kiddos. I think I might hit the Nordstroms sale today and get myself a little something...I think I deserve it! Talk to you all soon. ~ ↑
Hello to all!..A newbie here. I'm 36 years old and just started the baby making process with DH. Just looking for some friends to chat with while on my baby making journey!! ↑
My cycles go between 29-31days. I'm on cd 21 and hoping...since I have been getting some subtle cramping in my lower abdomen...plus some burning sensation on boobs...any advise?? ↑
jojosmom i agree its frustrating to get af but keen for her to come and get it over and done with so we can get started on the next round. im the same nothing new happening cd5 for me not far in front of you but still close enough to share a bfp at the end of this cycle (fingers crossed) dh and i decided to bd every other day this month because i think im not timing 0 properly and we also thought it might change it from feeling like a choir and make it as spontanious as posible just to get a bit of the stress levels down a bit lol, the thought of late night feeds and diapers these days are getting me excited so every other day should (praying) just be what i need to do. how are you doing krissy? are you anxious to test yet? baby dust to you i will be praying for this little been to stick for you, im excited for you i hope this is your month. hello claire, toothfairy and welcome maribel. have a great weekend everyone i will talk to you all soon, bye for now ↑
Hello ladies!!! Sorry I haven't been on but have been working quite a bit. clare41- Congrats on a great s/a. I checked out the peeonastick web site and it was very informative. May try the ones with the smiley face this month.Thought of trying the ov watch fertility predictor but it is expensive (about $150.00). Good luck with clomid and fibroid surgery. jojosmom- Sorry af showed up. Well I'm on cd7 now that af reared her ugly head this month also. I know how you feel when you get your period instead of a BFP! I hope all is well with your tooth drama. I'm a dental professional and maybe able to answer some questions for you. Sounds like your getting a crown. Don't wait too long to get it put on. Krissy68- Your dr sounds like he knows what he is doing. My dr hasn't given me any options except for injectable meds. I checked out the info and I may bring that up at my next appt. I think I'm going to change drs since mine wants to do just injectables. littleangelz- How are you doing? Hang in there girl, I feel the frustration also. MaribelsHope- Welcome to the chat!!! TTC can be very hard and frustrating so I hope we can help you here as much as possible. Have you seen a dr yet and had your levels tested? Baby dust!! ↑
Hi all - I hope you've all had a good weekend. Sounds like this month is out for a lot of us. Who is due to test etc. soon?? Welcome Maribels Hope - I'm glad you joined in. Will this be your first? Clare - when are you doing your fibriod surgery? How long is the recovery on that? Its funny that you are excited about the late night feedings etc. I keep trying to remind myself that they aren't so bad and it wll be over before I know it. Perspective is a funny thing. Krissy - how are you doing? Any symptoms? Toothfairy - I'm getting my crown on Thursday. It will be only about 2 weeks from putting the temporary on - does that sound about right? What do you do? Okay - I've got to run. Talk to you all soon. ↑

I remarried and after 6 years, my dearest wants a baby...Honestly I do too!!...Also, I am testing right about the 29th or the 30th..not all of us are out yet!!...I just want to wait and not go crazy testing!...those little test can be pricey. Also, I really want to thank all of you ladies for the support. I just hope we all continue to stay in touch at least through this thread!! Its nice to know that we can all do this as a form of relief for those dreadful "waiting" days!!! ↑
