Irene I was actually surprised when i found a place that would take him. we've also had some issues with poop in the pools. Most of them have had to install special filters and now they're making kids wear 2 swim diapers. these lessons focus on making him comfortable with floating on his back, and what to do if he ever falls in. he's learning how to pop up at the wall and grab on. yesterday she said he's actually doing better than she would have expected for a kid his age...but i'm sure she tells all the moms that. they even teach him how to keep his head back so his nose and mouth stay out of the water further. I think at some point he learns how to roll over and kick, and then roll back over and float - - all while trying to get to the wall or somewhere safe....He's definitely a little hellion - - i think he's going to start getting in to everything soon. mom starting sitting a 10 week old little girl for a friend of ours...I kind of nominated her so Walker would have another kid around and wouldn't start getting naughty. Mom said he was really cute with her yesterday, and everytime she'd cry, he'd sign the word "grumpy"....and he thought her vibraty chair was his personal massage chair...what a crack up!!

That sounds very cool with the swimming stuff - So what does Walker - and all the other toddler swimmers wear for buoyancy?? We're done with the ring seat thingys - have been for a while, armbands just make them glug I feel...but I can't find anything up my attic that I must have used - I'm sure I had an all-in-one thing that had aids in the torso part...but where it is? So before I go out and search for a new one...all you new mums will have the latest thing out - what is recommended nowadays???

Ok the site is going slow for me so im not going to break my posts up tonite lol...Irene, we are still using the seat thing with caden in the pool. He likes it for quite awhile before he gets bored especially if he gets wore out he can kick back and observe the other kids. We also have a life jacket it is the pdf 2. The pdf1 is the best but the least comfy. Since we are right with him we figure that would be ok. However, yesterday was the first time he used it and i dont know if he liked it b/c my friends pool was so extremely cold he did not want in it. Caden does not like to lay on his back in the water. He is ok if it gets in his face and stuff and on vacation even would stick his face in the water when we would "pretend" swim him....Jen I think swimming lessons are a great idea. I am hoping dh can teach caden b/c when i asked about swimming lessons he said that was something he wanted to teach him. I don't think there is a place around here that takes this age group tho.. Mom did good on her first day back to work. She went for a check up and has gained 8lbs haha. I thought she had lost 9 but she had lost 12 while she was sick. She has ate like crazy once she started holding food down she said she was starving... Caden was a blast today. He was laughing and having such a great time. After he fell asleep tonite he even laughed in his sleep. I think this age is the best except on those days where they whine all day and you cant seem to please them. OOO and this is making me furious (kinda) he will repeat almost anything my dh asks him to and will not say crap for me! He has said tons for dh this week diaper and eye being the most recent two. The little stinker. He thinks his dad is the best thing since sliced bread. He got hurt yesterday and dh picked him up and i get up to go check him out and he pushed me away! I keep telling myself it is b/c he sees me all the time.

Cat-==So glad to hear that your mom is better. You might want to look into the YMCA..they have mommy and baby lessons. We start our lessons on the 14th. I am very excited. Actually, we just came back from the pool today. We have a pool where we live. I will be missing that next summer when we move. I guess we will have to join one. As far as the double diapers...I have been using the swimmers....What do you do put two swimmers on or did you actually mean two diapers? Irene...thank you.

Well lades I hope everyone had a great 4th of july! We had fun today. Caden got scared when the ones that whistled went off he would cry but other than those he did fine he actually fell asleep before they ended but woke up when we got up and started moving around. He played so hard before the fireworks he got majorly banged up but was a toughy. On one fall he busted his lip, skinned his elbow and both knees, and it took all the skin off the knuckle on one thumb. He only cried about 30 seconds. And did not cry at all when i washed off his thumb and put a bandaid on it. Before the nite was out he did the other thumb the same way as well as his middle finger on one hand. He had a blast though and loves drawing w/ sidewalk chalk i didnt think he was old enough for it. He even fell asleep holding on to a piece. My cuz sent us several pieces home b/c she said her boys dont hardly ever play w/ thiers. Dummy me forgot my camera so my cousin took I think about 3 pictures of caden thoughout the evening and ill put them up when she gets them to me. I hope you all had a great time!

you know, between the stupid virus ads that lock up your computer, and the video on the right side of the screen that has to load before you can look at anything, i am really getting tired of this website!!! is there anywhere else we can go to post/??

I agree the site is really becoming a pain. July 4th was pretty quiet...we did not venture out to see Fire Works. We actually had a busy day buying a minivan. I have to say...I still cannot believe that we got one. I really was not sure if we should...my DH...really wanted us to get one so when my parents join us we can all be in one car. I know that the gas prices are so high...that is what kept telling me no...but we did get a very good deal on a Honda Odysey. I do love it...I just don't know if I can drive something so big. My dad is so concern with seeing me in a big van. He says...are you sure you can drive that... I think that is why I keep questioning our decision. I keep reminding him that we got it for them. If we have baby #2 there is no way that we can all fit in our car. My folks are with us a lot.

Okay...now on another topic. I am past ovulation again and have all sort of weird symptoms. I don't know what is going on with my cycle. This is the second month that I have weird PMS symptoms. This month I am having hot flashes, insomia, thirst, and frequent bath room visits. I also have had a couple of nausea spells. I don't I am prego...I won't even test this time until days after my period. They will probably go away after a week right before my AF is due that is what happened last month. Does pregnancy bring on bad PMS?

SON...i know of a lot of people that said their cycle changed...some for the better, some for the worse....i guess it all depends on your body. mine has stayed the same through both pregnancys, although some months the first 2 days are so heavy...i just want to stay home! it could be your symptoms of ovulation, too.i know some women who know they are ovulating b/c of their symptoms!

under american pregnancy dot org...they have several forums...My friend is on this one but she says that they have a moderator on the site. So I don't know if this is something that we would want to do...I think we would have to end up on a thread that is already formed. Why don't you check it out and tell me what you think.

i'm also getting a terrible pop-up that closes my window and sends me to a virus site...so i'm all for finding a new forum. Irene, walker either uses a body suit that has floaties built in (he looks like a pumped up bodybuilder) or I bought him a wetsuit to keep him warm...i guess at this age it's hard for them to regulate their temps in the water and they get really cold. it's made a difference. sonrisa, i'm using a disposable swim diaper and a re-useable swim diaper - both of those together. or if he's pooped before his swim lesson i just use both of the reusables. He did so good this weekend, floating on his back is the part he hates, and i practiced it at our friends and then while chris was watching him on saturday he upgraded our pool to a little 30" tall by 10 feet pool...and walker did so good floating on his back in that on sunday. he didn't cry once...so i think he's finally getting confident about it.

we had a good 4th. my aunt, gma, and cousin all came out and everyone stayed at the house. i got a hookup for some pedicures and facials so we all spent saturday afternoon at the spa and then went out to a japanese place for dinner. it was fun to have them here. we shot of fireworks and then chris and i climbed on the roof and watched the whole valley shoot off their fireworks. we could see about 4 different cities doing theirs and then all the little neighborhood fireworks. it was a pretty low key --around the house three day weekend.
