I was hoping someone on here could tell me that they have been through a successful pregnacy despite being what Dr's call "morbidly obese". I just found out I was 6 weeks and I am scared to death my weight is going to be a major problem. Any advice?

The best thing to do is just try your best to eat healthy. i know it's e asier said than done. i became obese after my first pregnancy and remained obese throught my second. after i had my daughter i struggled with an eing disorder and lost 75lbs. I'm now 8 weeks pregnant with my third child and trying my hardest to eat healthy so i don't gain too much weight

How much do you weigh? I am overweight, and I am 9 weeks...doing well so far.

I am on my 2nd pregnancy and am obese as well. I delivered a healthy baby girl on 7/I2/07, but did have a few complications with pre-eclampsia. The Dr. said that this was probably due more to being a first time mom, rather than being overweight. Overweight women can have healthy pregnancies, we just need to be a little more aware of our situation. You should not try to diet while you are pregnant, but eating healthy is a good decision. Also mild exercise is good, like walking or swimming, but do not overexert yourself. Talk with your Dr. and they usually have good tips for maintaining a good weight. Stay positive, this baby is a gift from heaven. :)
