This morning I woke up and my bf was getting money for a pack of cigs, ( I don't smoke). I plunked into the calculator how much money we would save in a year. It's enough to buy a new car, so he gave me his money and said, honey here's my money I'll try. Not for you not for me but for our children. He he I was so happy and I really hope it works. ↓
Oh how great! Good luck to him. It might help to get some sort of secondary help for him - maybe get him the nicotine patches for a while to help with cravings. Also, I've heard about a book that can be helpful, I can't remember what it's called, but it addresses smokers' myths one-by-one. (Myths like "smoking relaxes me", etc.) I'm sure if you asked at your local bookstore, they'd know what youre talking about. Good luck for you and especially for your boyfriend! ↑
Now tha'ts a guy that really cares for his family, he will do fine especially when he see's that bundle of joy he will know he did the best choice, now instead of using the money for ciggs,he can use it to start buying diapers ↑
My father in law has recently stopped smoking after over 30 year sof being addicted. There is a new medication on on the market. I forgot the name of it, but I'm sure that you could look it up online. Instead of gradully weanning off the nicotine (like the patches and gum do) it actually blocks the nicotine receptors in your brain that cause cravings. It is expensive but 100% effective. Good luck! ↑
commit lozenges work AWESOME! My dh smoked for 5 years and nothing worked for him. Not the patches, gum, or cold turkey. He took commitlozenges for a month and he's done! He's not crabby or anything. They work GREAT!!!! ↑
That is so awesome!! I smoke right now, terrible habit, and so does my fiancee, but we are both planning on quitting in January because he is getting a new job and told me we could start trying for a baby next year!! I cannot wait and it is so worth quitting for. ↑
my husband has severe asthma, we both smoke, although it seems to be easier for him to quit than myself, he's quit several times before, just decided to pick it up back again. we are ttc and i feel that it's going to be very difficult for myself to quit but i will once i get pregnant, (i know i should stop now) but after the day he had yesterday and the last week he's been waking up in the middle of the night hacking and wheesing and not doing good at all we have decided that we are going to do it now, go on healthy diets(which has been hard because he's a sweets LOVER and i am not) to buy better stuff, hopefully i can get him on this kick and we can kick the habits together!! ↑
i always find it difficult to understand women who say 'i smoke but i'll quit when im pregnant' simply because you never know how you will feel when you are pregnant, cravings and addictions don't just suddenly dissappear into thin air once a pregnancy test reads positive! i think ive always thought that its quite a daft thing to say. lilmama well done to your bf for trying to quit, smoke around babies is no good at all. its very good of him to take that into consideration. ↑
