When have you experienced moms put your lo's in a big girl/boy bed?? I have a 3 in 1 crib so it turns into a daybed and then a full size. Would you just go straight to the full size bed? I read her books every night so a full size bed would be easier. Suggestions please. My mother is bugging me about putting her in a bed since I am potty training her.

We had to put dd in her big girl bed the week of her 2nd birthday when she started climbing out of her crib. I would say go straight to the full size bed, but you will probably need bedrails to keep her from falling. We tried the toddler bed first for several nights and it was not good. She would not stay in the bed, and she did not sleep well as the mattress was too close to the floor and not that comfortable. She also would fall out of it as she is an active sleeper. She wound up climbing into our bed every night- several times if we moved her back to her room. We switched to a twin sized bed with a bedrail, and she immediately started staying in her bed and sleeping all night most nights. She loved it. We put a step at the end so she could climb in and out by herself.
