bleeding after internal

ok, i have 2 kids already and i am 38 wks 3 days with my 3rd. i don't normally bleed after internals unless they are really invasive. but today i am. and she didn't do anything any different that i know of. but i even had a couple of dark red clot looking things a little while ago, like you would have with ur period. they were fairly small but i don't remember doing this with my other kids. im kinda worried. maybe she hit something? or stripped my membranes and didn't tell me? i am just worried cuz normally i don't bleed after exams or sex or anything. any advice would be great. ↓

I'd call your Dr...... I am not very experienced as this is my first. Could it be bloody show? I'd call just incase... ↑

I was thinking either your membranes were stripped or it was bloody show. Maybe your going early :) ↑

Cnasmom- this shouldn't be bloody show, bloody show is just blood tinged not clumps of blood. I bled after one of my internals with my last pregnancy but it was almost like a brown blood. Good news that you are 38 weeks though!! ↑

I am pregnant with my second but had bleeding at 39 weeks with my first child. It was also after an internal. It wasn't just spotting either, but like a period. I was actually rushed to labor and delivery in an ambulance after I had a gush of blood. I would defintely call your doctor just to rule out anything more serious than bloody show. There was no explanation for my bleeding and my son was fine. I am 4 days after my due date and elected not to have any internals this time around ↑

id call your doctor. bleeding during pregnany should never be ignored...red blood is new blood and clots are not always nothing. im sure its not, but you dont want to ignore them as that is a sign of the placenta tearing away from the uterus...please just call your doctor to be safe...let them diagnose you. ↑

ok, i took a nap and now its basically just a little brown. maybe i freaked for nothing. but if it happens again i will def call the doctor. they weren't big clot things just little but i knew it wasn't my plug. thank you all so much for your responses.  ↑

My doctor always warns me that i might spot when get internals, they said there is nothing to be worried about, but if u are really unsure just call them and let them know. ↑
