I have been diagnosed with having gestational diabetes at 28 weeks. I am now 32 weeks pregnant. My sugar levels are very much under control with diet and exercise. Usually one hour after meal readings are below 120...I am just worried about my fasting blood sugars...it is constantly in 93-95 range...just barely making the normal range...i have been avoiding carbs for night time snack and just been taking protein diet. is anyone else having this problem? and can someone tell me how to get the normal range back...i do not want to take any pills/insulin :(

Hey, I failed the 1 hour test and they did not do the 3 hour since I am considered high risk (I am 38 with 1 loss). So they wanted me to go ahead and change my eating habits. I am currently 30 weeks. I started my finger pricking this morning and my first reading was 108. Do you have a meal plan to follow? According to my paperwork from the Dr the first test before breakfast and exercise should be 60-90 and 2 hours after meals should be 60-120...Do you have a nutritionist on staff at the Dr office that you can call and talk to? Maybe they could make a suggestion or rearrange some of the things you are eating at certain times. I don't want to be on meds either! This is only day 1. I hope by next week I can get into a more normal range. You need to have some carbs in your system and not just straight protein from what I have learned. Good luck and I hope you can get it straightened out.
