Hi newmomma my ds has just turned 1 & I am still bf him, & have only ever used a pump 3-4 times to keep milk in the freezer as a just-in-case (I think he ended up having 2 of the bottles). If you exclusively bf & not pump you will always make the perfect amount of milk for your baby, as the baby can empty your breast more efficiently than a pump. If you aren't working & are able to bf on demand for as long as bubs wants, you will succeed perfectly fine so don't worry. Just remember to drink LOTS of water & eat healthy so that you do produce lots of good quality milk. How old is your little one?

thanks, my son is 3 weeks old I am off work for a year. I am just concerned about having to be available at all times and am worried if I get my hair done or run errands and he is at home with my husband, how fussy he will be when hungry.

My dd is 4 weeks and I haven't used a pump yet. It is possible but it's a hassle. When I go out I make sure I can make it back to the car or have a private area in which to feed her. As I was telling a friend of mine the other day, it should be a law to have breast feeding rooms. I mean everyone is always saying how important it is to breast feed, they could at least make it convenient! Anyway, good luck and hang in there!
