Hey ladies well I will be doing another round of clomid what days will you all be doing your? I got AF today and Inormally take mines on cd2-6 but so far my meds haven't came so that means my days will be off this cycle or might not be able to use them at all. Is there anything else I could use?

LOL......CD = cycle day (day 1 is the first day of heavy bleeding) HPT = home pregnancy test, BFP = big fat positive, BFN = big fat negative. You typically take Clomid days 1-5, 2-6, 3-7, 4-8, or 5-9. O = Ovulate or ovulation. AF = Aunt Flow (your period) 2ww is the 2 weeks wait or the time between ovulation and AF's scheduled visit. Also known as the luteal phase. I hope I helped! Faith, I tried for the twins, but only got one bean cooking in there. I know a handful on here that have conceived twins on u/p clomid. ↑

actually, you don't take it on days 1-5 or 2-6. the eggs aren't mature enough and you end up with a blighted ovum or a miscarriage for another reason. i would stick with 5-9. ↑

Hi, Im in the same boat Carolina73 and faith1, have you had any success yet?
I have a 20mth daughter but had a really bad pregnancy due to preeclampsia, so really wanted to conceive twins so wouldnt have to go through anymore pregnancies.
I have just received my unprescribed clomid, but didnt have a clue what dosage or when to take, Im just about to stop my contraceptive pill in a few days, so wanted your help with any info? ↑

Teddy, not sure where you got your info but I've looked at numerous studies out there that compared clomid start dates and there is no evidence that the earlier dates cause m/c in fact I found one study that showed a higher pg rate at cd1-5..... It really doesn't matter what days you start it, anywhere between cd1-5 and cd5-9 is fine. Just remember you will O about 5-8 days after you last pill.... twin_desire you may want to check with your doc before taking clomid. A twin pregnancy already increases your risk of preeclampsia and if you experienced it with a singleton I would worry what a twin pregnancy would do to you.... As to the dosage, 25-50mg is all you need. There are numerous studies out there and they show no benifit to the higher doses. In fact the pregnancy rate is always higher on the lower doses if you already ovulate. The anti-estrogenic effect of the higher doses probably make it harder to get pregnant and increase the m/c risk. ↑

So taking lower dosage actually increases your chance of twins then? and you only take them for 5 days? ↑

Yes you only take it for 5 days, most of us take it somewhere in the middle like cd3-7. You have the same chance of twins no matter what the dose but the larger doses cause more side effects so I would suggest trying the 50mg. If you have bad side effects then lower to 25mg. You also don't want to take for too many cycles. If you don't get pg after two or three months then take a break. In our TTC twins group we have one twin momma who conceived with two days of 50mg and three days at 25mg and another momma who conceived twins on her break. (clomid stays in your system for up to 60 days) Ladies trying the larger doses are not having any luck so we have all started trying the lower doses. ↑

HEllo new to this thread, but some of you c me on the others. I took my 1st round of clomid this month days 3-7 I didn't get a pos opk until cd14. However i have had a pos opk for 5 days so i am not for sure why but hopefully it is good hopefully soon I will be a bfp AF is due the 12 so we will see then Teddy I heard that taking it too early (cd 1 or 2) can devolp more eggs (making a better chance for pregnancy) but the eggs are less devolped so when the egg and sperm meet they don't attatched to the uterean wall as well thus causing a miscarriage. I read a lot that says that. But there are so many different conflicting info. Teddy you get t o find out soon waht it is!!!!! You gotta let us know. Baby dust to all. ↑

The belief that the earlier days cause more eggs but less mature floats around here alot but I haven't been able to find any scientific evidence to back that up. Actually this website seems to be the only source that says that, lol. I think its a myth that started here and just keeps circling around, cause pretty much every study I found showed no difference *shrug*. I do know that ladies suggest taking clomid at night to sleep through the side effects. ↑

Hey girls I just wanted to give you all a update well I couldn't hold out today I am cd 25 7dpo and yes I tested and I new it would be negative but I wanted to give myself a birthday present to myself. Anyway I went to see my gyn today and told him i wanted to try for another baby and he didn't seem to mind that I am 40 today so if I am not pg this cycle AF is due on the 10th then I will start 50mg clomid on cd 3-7 and 1mg/estradiol (estrogen but what does this do) 3 pills a day twice a day, bd on cd10-16 and start taking prog sup on cd 17 if I get pg keep taking the prog sup until I am 10wks. The other good news if my insurance covered it all at $10 each so that is good I just have to wait for the prog sup to come it they had to ordered it but when it come in they will mail it to me. I had to have some blood work done today and I need to have a ultra sound done whenever I think I will wait until AF show up and I start taking my clomid to see how my eggs are doing. I will keep everyone updated now Jessicab3 you know I will be bugging you. He didn't say anything about the baby asprin or robintussin or even doing the opk what do you advise I do. I know I was still going to do the opk but what about the other two? Krissy68 ↑

Krissy, that's great that your doc is helping you out. The estradiol is to help counteract the anti-estrogen side effects. I'm actually taking it too. I would still do the ba and robitussin. It wouldn't hurt anyways. ↑

twin_desire - I'm doing good how about yourself? I'm sorry AF showed up. I did clomid 50mg cd 3-7 and the only problem I had was a real bad headache but that is now gone I took my last pill on Sat., on Sun I started taking 1mg of estrodoil 3 pills/ 2 times a day I have to do this on cd 8-12. Today I am cd 10 and I started taking baby asprin 81mg and robintussin 100mg 2tsp 2 times a day. Also today I am suppose to start bding from cd 10-16 but I actually started bding on cd 6 and now I am tired. I will start using my opk test strip on cd 12 I have been ovulating on cd 18. Hi all, well Im currently on cd 5 and I have been taking clomid for past 2 days and I do not seem to have any side effects, is this normal? Does this mean its not going to work or maybe im not taking enough? as Im on 50mg cd 3-7. Maybe I just thought that if i got side effects then at least i would know it would be working.

Hi twin desire! i have read elsewhere that about 80mg of aspirin a day thickens your lining as Clomid can thin it out. So it would help the egg to 'stick'. I hope this helped i will ask my doc what he thinks next friday and let you all know what he says. Ive also read about the robitussin thing so i will be asking about that too:) ↑
