I'm just about 13 weeks pregnant and taking 200mgs of prometrium daily. Just wanted to know when other people stopped taking it...I'm kinda scared to stop, but I HATE it at the same time... ↓
I stopped at 12 weeks to the day. My infertility doc said that it's actually safe to stop at 10 weeks because that's about the time that the placenta takes over and creates progesterone. He said they just keep moms on it until 12 weeks these days to completely safe. I was sooooo happy to get off of Prometrium. It was horrible! But, it was worth it! ↑
my doc said that 10 weeks is when the baby takes over, but they have you continue a little longer just in case the little cutie is a slow grower. i stopped on the last day of the first trimester. 13 weeks and 3 days. it was scary because you feel comfort in knowing it will help hold the beanie, but it think at 13 weeks, the amount of prometrium you're taking is nothing compared to what it needs so if you're still doing good, i'd say you'll be fine. did your doc say when to stop? ↑
I just called my doc, and they said I can stop taking it now - they recommend that people take it until 12 weeks, so I'm past that now...I'm 13 weeks either today or tomorrow. Thanks for your help!! ↑
