sleeping on the belly

I wake up sometimes at night on my belly with her kicking me. I forgot to ask my doctor about it. I would rather sleep on my stomach, it hasnt become uncomfortable for me yet, i am really showing and at 29 weeks, but my sister and mother say it is bad for the baby, so i go to sleep on my side. Nevertheless I always end up on my belly. Usually it is my legs cramping that wake me up and then i notice i am on my belly. Does anyone else sleep on their stomach? or know if its safe?

I have a huge belly and I sleep as much on my belly as it will allow....so far so good - your body will make you flip before you could do any damage and it's not like you are bouncing on your belly - it's fine but that's just my opinion....good luck I am 36 weeks and have no signs of anything wrong with it

I agree. I think that your body would subconciously know not to allow you to sleep on your belly if it would harm you or your baby. I wouldnt worry about it. But, do think about investing in a body pillow that gives you the same feeling as sleeping on your belly, but without the weight on the baby.

i always seem to still be laying on my side but actually be laying face down which is very comfortable when your pregnant. Its like having your stomach sideways but your arms down as if your on your stomach as well as your legs. I want to sleep on my stomach but I am just afraid. I heard it was okay though
