Hey everyone I hope this helps. I am about to have my 5th section. It is planned for 3/3 but if it's like the last 2 the baby will be here before 39 weeks. Each section has taken longer and my 2nd was an emergency but still seemed uncomplecated. I have asked my MD many times about the # of sections and she always said that it's the uterine thinness that is the concern not the scar tissue. I am getting so close and am getting a bit concerned that there could be a problem due to it being # 5. Anyone who has had scar tissue complictions did the MD know before the section or did they know only after they opened you up? I am also worried about going into labor and the baby coming before I have a chance to get to the hospital. I wish that they could scheduel the section before 39 weeks to make sure I don't have to labor. Good luck and good recovery

melissa-unfortantly they never know how bad it is until they open you up..there is really no way of knowing how bad the scar tissue is in there. but you are right i have had so many doctors tell me that it is not the scar tissue..it is the viability of the uterus..so if your doctor is okay with it then you should be fine...good luck and just try to enjoy your pregnancy!

I just had my 5th c-section 4 weeks ago. I also have carried a set of twins they were my 4th c-section. All went well.

Well, I have had one c-section and when I asked my doctor how many children I could have all together, she told me that as of now, I am in good shape and having a second should be fine. She was not able to say beyond that because you just don't know how your body will handle the c-sections until after you have them. I will say that everything went ok with my c-section and I felt great afterwards. My recovery was not long and I found that walking helped. My mother-in-law had four c-sections and had serious problems with bleeding with the fourth. That was in the 70's and I think it is important to understand that every woman is different.

I asked my OBGYN and he said that there is no limit. Just with every one it gets harder to do and longer recovery. He just had some one who did her 7th one and she was fine.

I have had 9 children. I am 38 years old. The first 6 were induced labors with natural deliveries. The last 3 were C-sections. We were hoping to have one more baby, but number 9 was born 6 days ago, and before we left the hospital, our doctor let us know that due to an EXTREME amount of scar tissue (my bladder had completely adhered to my uterus) we cannot have another. I am very upset about this and am having a horrible time accepting it. I hope it gets easier the further along in time it goes. I do know that I am more sore and uncomfortable than I was after either of the other 2. To make things worse, we are dealing with some bilirubin issues with this new one and it has been an emotional hurricane this week.
