Cord Blood is relatively a new concept but due to its increased awareness of the ability of curing many diseases, it has now become a much talked topic. It is universally known that the umbilical cord of a newborn, within the womb, is actually the lifeline between the mother and the baby. But, it is clinically proved that it may also be the lifeline of the child outside of the womb as well. The question that often comes to the mind of a couple during the later stage of pregnancy is “Should we or should we not”. Initially, cord blood preservation might not seem to carry enough importance: however, by attentively going through its pros and cons, many people are accepting the fact that cord blood preservation plays an important role in saving their baby’s life. Cord blood is nothing but the blood that remains in the newborn’s umbilical cord after the cord has been cut. Doctors have clinically proved that this particular blood has been found to be a rich source of stem cells, which generate the blood cells in our human body and can be used in medical treatments.
