Hi. I am about 5 weeks along with my first pregnancy. I have been having some bad leg cramps, starting in my thighs and shooting down my legs. Any ideas???

I am 9 months pregnant w/first child. My Dr told me to take Calcium supplements, and make sure I am well hydrated, in addition to doing some simple leg stretches before bed. I know restless legs are no fun, good luck to you. :) However, do see a Dr and follow his/her plan!!!!

jgive5 is correct. Leg cramps are a sign that you are low in calcium. Increase you milk intake and/or take calcium supplements (citrate or chelate - NOT calcium carbonate - too hard to digest), and your leg cramps should be a thing of the past. You should count how much calcium you are taking in a day, and aim for at least 1,600 mg, preferably 2,000 mg per day.
