Feeling Baby Move As Early As 10 Weeks

I felt some weird sensations down there when I was 10 weeks. I don't think it was the baby, because of it's size and the fact that it would have only had little stubs for arms and legs at that stage, but I DO believe it had something to do with pregnancy. Whether it was the uterus exapanding or something else, I don't know, but it was something I never felt before and haven't felt since I started to feel real baby kicks. The only way I can think to describe it, is like a celular phone that's been left on vibrate. It lasted for about 30 seconds, then it'd go away. I felt it about once a day at 10 weeks and by 12 weeks it was about 4 or 5 times a day. I don't know what it was, but it definitely wasn't gas. I wonder if it'll happen with the next pregnancy?

At 12 weeks I felt the same thing and even felt like I felt a strong kick here and there but my doctor said it was impossible. I finally felt real movement at 17 weeks with this baby and felt it about 19 with my first.

I am also 10 weeks pregnant and have felt the sensation of bubbles moving around. You are not alone.

There is alot going on in there but I seriously doubt that you can feel it move. I am very thin and still didn't feel anything until around 18 weeks. My doctor says it is impossible. Think about how much water and other things are surrounding your little one.

I am glad I found all your posts. I am pretty certain I felt like little bubbling from week 12 or so.I would feel it like once or twice a day. Now I am 15 weeks and for a few days I have felt nothing but I did see my baby in an ultrasound last Thursday and all was ok. Maybe its to do with the placenta or because I am suddenly more bloated. I dont know but I wish I could feel those bubbles right now. Has this happened to anyone? movement really early on and then nothing for a few days?

It is called wishful thinking and there is nothing wrong with it. However, at 10 weeks you cannot feel your baby due to size and the fact that the bones are not solid yet, so the baby is very soft and in no way has enough thrust to make you feel anything. But who cares, if you think you are feeling it go for it and believe it, there is no harm on it! :)

Yes, it's possible, but that sounds like gas to me. I started feeling my third son move around 10 weeks. It was confirmed by a u/s at 10.5 weeks, he was moving and I was getting the same feeling. Anyhow, it feels more like a very, very faint tickle above your hair line. It will eventually get stronger in that spot the further along you are until you have the kicks in the ribs, etc. Lol!

Whoops, didn't notice how old the post is!

Margot - July 28

Thanks Anna and Sue but I think that being in my second pregnancy I can tell whether I am having gas or whether it is something different. Nobody likes to feel patronised.

Old, but wanted to add: Funny about the tilted uterus, mine is too. I wonder if that's really why? The sonographer was shocked at first, but I was right on the money. When I felt it, he was moving, when I didn't he was being 'good' and holding still for her. I wasn't watching the sono, I couldn't crane my neck that much! When he got a bit bigger, same feeling and spot but stronger. Later on the rolling type feeling in that spot. Next came bigger bumps and thumps. Of course now, it's the big kicks.

Didn't even read your post, hun. I was responding to the OP. I know full well some can feel baby that early. My sonographer does now too. :)

Margot, yes you can feel movement and then nothing for a few days. All of my pregnancies have been that way, even late into them. Everything was always fine. Hope that helps some.

Thanks Sue, yes it is helpful to know what I am experiencing might be normal!. With my daughter I started to feel her at 16 weeks but dont remember ever feeling axious about anything. Now after a miscarriage at 11 weeks last October, everything makes me nervous. I just keep hoping I will feel that familiar feeling again soon! When you say a few days, 5 or 6 days still sound normal? Thanks for your help

Sue - July 28

Yes, for me it was. Everything was always fine though. Sometimes you're too busy to feel them, baby is active while you're sleeping, sometimes they sleep...many reasons. When in doubt though, ask your doctor. I'm sorry to hear about your m/c. I can certainly understand being nervous. Try to keep relaxed as much as possible.

I started to feel my baby move really early!!! Like about 10 or 11 weeks also. I am (was) a thin person, I don't know if that had anything to do with it....could be that they have my due date off by a couple of weeks (i'm 33 weeks). Nonetheless i started feeling her move early too....

There is no question that a baby at 10 or 12 weeks is constantly moving but just think of how big it is how could you possibly feel it? It is about the size of a bean I really doubt you can feel it moving. There is so much stretching and bodily changes going on you probably mistake that for movement.
