I just discovered that am 5 weeks pregnant, but am having cramp off and on but no bleeding. And the last hcg I did 2 days ago was low about 682.2 Ulm/ml. I am so confused doctor said he needs to stop it from growing because he believe is an ectopic pregnancy.

Therre is enormous variation in hCG levels from one pregnancy to another. You could ask him to check the levels again in a week. If the doubling rate is not sufficient then ectopic becomes a concern, and presumably an ultrasound would pick it up.
