Well it's been almost a month since my last cisit... I lost my baby 2 days after my prior post (june 24th) It was a complete spontanous abortion... I didn't need for a D&C and right now I'm waiting for my period so I can start all over again and next time I'll take prometrium since the beginning and hopefully I'll have my precious baby... good luck ladies. Susie

this thread seems to have ended abruptly. where is everyone now?

Hey Cynthia3...I noticed that you posted a question wondering where we all have gone...I too wondered why everyone stopped corresponding. Anyway...I am proud to say that I am 27 weeks pregnant with twins...one boy and one girl! I did not use the prometrium to get pregnant...we were finding that the prometrium was acting like the mimi pill and preventing pregnancy. I was on it for 6 months and really realized that I was wasting so much time. SO...I guess that it worked for me without it. How are you doing? I am hoping that all is well with you and your situation...please let me know as I am curious about all my friends on here...have a wonderful holiday season.

Hi everyone, I only posted a few times back in April/June time but still kept up to date with conversations going on to see how everyone's progress was doing! I was having terrible trouble with all my pregnancies ending in miscarriage. i found all your advice about progesterone deficiency etc very interesting, needless to say I looked into it heavily. Looks like it was all worthwhile as like you Jonelle I am now........................ 30 weeks pregnant. Due on March 3rd and very relieved to be in the third trimester. I used prometrium from the minute I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks, until around 12 weeks. I varied dosage, but mainly used 200 mg per day, one in the morning and one last thing at night. I hated doing it but looks like it worked. Hoping for a healthy baby. Jonelle..... I am so delighted for you, I remember all your posts and your attempts to become pregnant so you must be so happy to be having TWINS, it's fab! Wishing you all the best and a fabulous Christmas with bump!

HI JONELLE!!! It's been a long while..............I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU! I've often thought about how you were doing, but going on the site was too painful for me. A lot has happened. I have decided to part ways with my husband. Things were getting very difficult....we were really starting to resent each other, and being together to try and concieve was really the only reason we were together. I know this sounds so bad...but we lost touch with all the stress and the disappointments. I've been living on my own for the past 6 months. I really do hope he will find someone that will be able to make his dreams of being a father - come true. Unfortunately, I've had more issues. I was diagnosed with STAGE 3 (highest grade) of pre-cancer cells in my cervix. I had surgery LEEP last month to remove all the cells and am CANCER free right now but will have to be monitored every 3 months in order for it to not to spread quickly like it did. I am alone and doing a lot of work at repairing my heart....but, I am getting stronger and I believe that things happen for reasons. Someone was watching over me and didn't think "my husband and I " had it all going on in order to bring a little one into this world. I think it will happen when it's ALL RIGHT!!!!! GOOD LUCK WITH everything and again....I am so HAPPY for you!!!!!!!! Take care of those babies!!!! Lot's of hugs!

Jonelle - congratulations! That is terrific news. I've been wondering where everyone was on this thread. And Chantal, as awful as 2007 has been for you, it sounds like it was a turning point for you and that the worst is behind you, will all good things to come in 2008. You sound good and strong, even if you don't feel that way all the time. But you will and you will get through this! Our baby boy (thanks to Prometrium) is almost 8 months now and so far all positive growth and development!

Chantal...I wish that I could reach through the computer screen and give you a giant hug! I am so sorry for all of your hardships lately but am so thankful that all of the "female" things have been cleared up for now. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and be thinking of you. Your time will come I just know it to bring a beautiful child into this world! Minkey...I am also so happy for you that you are enjoying your little bundle...with my first pregnancy I had to do the prometrium too for the first 12 weeks...my son is now 3 1/2 and same thing, no problems. I did not need it this time so I lucked out:) Congratulations to all...have a wonderful holiday season!

Okay I always read post for information but never post. So here goes I am 5wks now after three painful m/c's. I am taking prometrium 200mg x2day. I have never made it past 8 wks. I had my levels checked at 4wks and everything was good. I am praying that this is the reason that we lost the last three. I am very encouragedby the posts here.

Yes I had the same problem. I'd had one miscarriage before and was scared so I asked my doctor what we could do once I found out I was pregnant again. She tested my hormone levels and it was low so she put me on 400 mg of the hormone progesterone. It made me feel sick most the time I was on it but it has a good success rate. Even my doctor who is pregnant took it and is now about 7 months pregnant. I am almost 15 weeks and have been off of it for 3 weeks now beeing that you can only take it during the first trimester. I'm sure you'll be just fine and everything will work out great. I had the same worries and was relieved to find out that it really does help! Conrats!

I have been trying to get prego w/out any luck. i was told to take prometrium. But my question is should I continue to take it during my fertile days??? Help anyone????

sarah35 - February 25

rdlm**** my understanding of progesterone of any kind is to only take it during the second phase of your cycle... DPO 3 thru 12 weeks pregers or till AF shows. YOu should not take it before ovulation because you wouldnt have a fertalized egg to support.... and you are messing with your "estrogen phase" of your cycle... the first part. YOu could call your docs office and talk to the nurse.... they are more then happy to help at my office:-) GL 2 u!

Hello everyone!! This is the first time I write in a forum so this is going to be a little long... Sorry :) My husband and I have been trying to have a baby since 1 year ago. Last August we got pregnant but I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. The doctor ordered hcg and progesterone levels and the progesterone was extremely low. After waiting 3 months, we started to try again and got pregnant. This time I did the tests (hcg and progesterone) immediately after I found out at 3 1/2 weeks and both tests were ok. I took the tests again before having my first prenatal visit at 5 weeks and to my surprise, the progesterone had dropped from 26 to 14!!!!!!!! This decrease was most likely due to Luteal Phase Deficiency where the corpus luteum (which is what is left behind in the ovary after the egg is released during ovulation) is supposed to secrete the hormone progesterone to sustain the pregnancy until the 12th week when the placenta takes over. If there is a problem with the progesterone levels, the baby is not able to implant itself in the endometrium (which is the inside lining of the uterus) and thus a miscarriage occurs. If I had waited to do the tests next week, I would most likely have had another miscarriage and the diagnosis would have not been done. My doc started me on Prometrium 200mg orally daily for 1 week and will reevaluate the dosage after she sees my new labs next week. Even though we are very exited about the baby, we are still waiting to see if the Prometrium increases my progesterone levels. We have our fingers crossed..... I hope this information helps someone as this forum helped me see that I am not alone in this quest. Thank you!!!! PS- This is my 3rd day on Prometrium and today I felt dizzy as well…
