Meredith - was your first fussy? It's funny, "they" say that firsts are usually fussy and second ones not as, but it was the other way around for me!

maryann- Sorry. I just read you post above mine. Mine was written incorrectly. I meant to say that Ben was born 3 weeks early. I see that your son was 5 weeks early. I think that is a big part of he issue. I bet when he is around 11 or 12 weeks old, he'll peak on the fussiness and then start to calm down. (Six weeks is peak fussy period for term infants, so add five weeks to tat and that is the age-adjusted peak fussy period for your son. ) My son is less cranky/crabby than he was, but gets bad if he doesn't sleep enough. I really think it is normal and that he will outgrow it eventually.

Maryann, if you are still reading this post, I swear I felt like I wrote it. My daughter who is 6 weeks was born 5 weeks early. Around 3 weeks ago she started being really fussy, seems to cry all the time. she'll only take short naps and will not sleep through the night. I've had her to the doctors and she is perfectly healthy, really ga__sy but healthy. My husband also works at night and sleeps during the day. put her down last night for bed and she cried for over an hour and she had just been fed and changed. I start back to work in a week and I don't see how I'm going to make it through the day without sleep!

I know this post is several months old, but I'm experiencing the same thing with my LO. Has your baby boy gotten any better? Is he still fussy/cranky?

Please tell me it gets better!????
