i went into early labor with my second baby at 26 weeks. i went to the hospital and was given a shot...i cannot remember what it was called! ugh! it started with a T. sorry, my memory is failing me here. anyway, i was monitored for about 4 hours and given iv fluids (i was dehydrated) but got to go home that night. everything was fine and i deliverd safe and sound at 40 weeks. good luck to you.

Terbutaline. A smooth muscle relaxer used to treat asthma. Also used to treat preterm labor. Has annoying, sometimes dangerous side effects and recently there has been some question about its efficacy in delaying early labor. Can be given by IV or in pill form.

The drug called Terbutaline also known as Brethine. So do not take this drug. I stoped after a 1 1/2 i wean myself off. The baby came 23 Feb I gain 80 lb so the weight was great. I would not recommend I was not due till March and went into labor Dec 9. It took the hospital 11 hours to stop the labor. Then when i went home i had to take this medicine every 4 hours. I notice the shacking of the hand then the heart racing then the head and rocking started the the stuttering started. I ask the doctor was this affecting my baby and the doctor apply of NO. Really did they think I was that stupid if this is doing this to me it is doing it to my child. I believe my child has Hyper and learning problems.
