I am trying to figure out how to cook for my dd and I, get her to continue to eat vegetables when HE doesn't eat ANY veggies, except lettuce. He is about that bad about fruit too! I love the recipe thread but would have to give food to the neighbors if I ever try any of the recipes...

My DH hates and I mean HATES the word veggies and he's the same with with fruit but I caught him eating a banana. LOL!!! I wish I could get him to eat more of these things but no cigar. OH well. But I am glad for this section. One can only eat so many chicken recipes before throwing up. LOL!!

I figure my only chance with my daughter is the fact that my husband travels...maybe she will learn to eat different things when he is gone...NOT that I like him being gone...but you know what I mean.

I'll look for it. I need something different. Do you steam your veggies then add it?

my canned veggies like corn and green beans i just put it in the microwave with b___ter. the only fresh veggies i get around here are brocolli- love with fresh lemon nothing else and asperigus(sp?) i cook that in olive oil and fresh garlic.

Same issue here. DH does not like to eat any veggies or fruit. Only veggies hitting his plate are black olives and french fries. Thats it!

Well your husband can't lie and tell your dd that he is right not to eat veggies. Tell your dh that you are going to make an example out of him and make veggies for you and your dd and then when she asks why daddy doesn't have to eat them you'll say that it is not healthy for daddy not to eat them but he is an adult and you can't force him, but you want her to be healthy. My sister is tha bad influence n my family and dd worships her, BUT I make sure my sis says out loud in front of dd that she knows shes wrong not to try new things. My dd actually makes it a game now, she'll try just about anything and then look at sis and show off a little.

I just don't want to be too harsh and scare my dd into thinking that daddy is going keel over any minute because he doesn't eat his veggies - I worry enough about that alone!

lol, no but you can tell her she's growing and needs em more than dad

My dh is VERY picky when it comes to veggies and fruit. So what i have found is that if i mix the ones he doesnt like (veggies) in the foods he really does he'll eat them some times not even knowing. For example, celery in pasta sauce..(so good too!) and pees and green beans in shepards pie, he will eat them and not say a thing. And with the fuit i pick the ones that he does like and put them in his lunch so he has no choice if he is starving!!

Must be a man thing!! A Sunday roast is the only time mine will eat veggies as they come!!! But I disguise them in almost everything I make - spaghetti sauces, lasagne, mince, ca__seroles....but the easy option if you make something and its too much is to freeze it...whatever I have - with veg - he'll get minus and the kids eat the veg too...I actually have to battle with my 4 yr old to leave me some - he would become a vegetarian given half the chance!!! I just tell my brood that dad's silly and WE know what tastes good.....

Oh...Your kids will really only make an issue out of it if you do.....Mine just accept that dad eats slightly different to us..
