21 And Pregnant

Hi. I'm 21 and my boyfriend and I just found out I'm pregnant. I'm in my last semester of college and plan to go to graduate school in August which is also near my due date. All of my family want me to abort the baby due to religious purposes, my influential involvement in my community and church, my extremely active performances as a music major and the fact that I'm not currently financially stable to afford a child. In my heart I believe that I can work up the money to support my child and still go to graduate school but everyone keeps telling me I can't. I know it'll be hard but my faith won't let me give up to abortion. Can anyone relate?

I cannot relate but i feel like if you think your ready then you should have it. God or whoever you believe in will forgive you and im sure your fam will understand your reasons for not aborting the baby...i really hope you dont do that but good luck!!!

Hi Diamondt,

You absolutely can financially make it work for you and your baby.  You can go on WIC and the baby can get medicaid.  You have some time annd hopefully your family will come around in time.

I also want to mention the possibility of adoption.  That way you can still do the things in your life plan, but not have the concern of abortion which you say is against your religious beliefs.  You give a couple the blessing of having a family!

Let me know if you want to chat.
