Do I Need Another Ultrasound

My physician gave me an ultrasound during week 10. I felt that it might be helpful to at least have another later in the pregnancy to see if any complications such as polyhydraminos or deformity has occured. With my 1st born, I had at least 4 ultrasounds, as my physician liked to monitor the total progress including growth. Is it normal or even safe to measure an entire pregnancy based on an 10-week ultrasound?

Hi Lynn, Personally, I would like to have more than one or two ultrasounds during the total pregnancy. I agree with you, at least 4 to monitor how it's growing.

Yes, you should have more than one ultra sound, that was really early in your pregnancy and they do need to monitor certain things, like how the baby is developing, what position he/she is in, how big they are, if there are any complications at all, and if you want to know the s_x. You should request an ultrasound at 20 weeks +, it is important.
