Vitamin D Levels In Pregnancy Affect Tooth Decay In Baby
A new study undertaken by the University of Mantoba in Canada has uncovered that women who get insufficient amounts of vitamin D during pregnancy are at greater risk for having babies with tooth enamel problems and early childhood tooth decay. A total of 206 women participated in the study and were tested for vitamin D levels throughout their pregnancy. Mothers with low levels of vitamin D were more likely to have babies with childhood tooth decay when compared with mothers who had enough vitamin D throughout their pregnancy. Women who drink more milk while pregnant and who regularly take their pre-natal vitamin should not have problems with vitamin levels.
