I have three childeren 2, 5, and 7. When I was pregnant I wanted the doc. to induce my labor. I didn't like being pregnant. The doc. agreed all three times, but the first two babies came a few days before I was schuled to be induced. I was not sure if it was real labor pains or false labor. I waited at home almost to late and had my first two childeren within the first 30 minutes. The labor was so quick that I didn't not get an epidural with either one. When I became pregnant with my third child the doc planned to induce (at two weeks prior to due date) at the first visit. The doc. told me that on average it took 12 - 24 hours of labor when being induced. I got hooked on the meds at 6 a.m. and I got three epidurals that did not take. The good news is that it only took me less than 2 hours to give birth to my son ( he was born at 7:58 a.m.).

Hi every one, i was inducted 9 days after my first baby was due and OMG if i can avoid it again with my baby this time round i will! being inducted isnt the hard or scary part it was that the contractions were right on top of each other and it was like hell.. i had an epidural as i couldnt stand the pain anylonger and it didnt quiet take the pain away, i was still feeling the contractions.. which may have been the epidural not working properly or from being induced im not quiet sure..

I am currently almost 39 weeks pregnant and I would never choose to be induced even if I was 2 weeks late. I would not choose Pitocin, stripping my membranes, or breaking my water prematurely. I was induced with Pitocin with my first baby because I had no education. Labor that is induced with Pitocin is more painful than if you let nature take it's course... I learned that the hard way. I would try to induce by natural methods including nipple stimulation, walking, herbs, and/or sex.

i am currently 38 weeks along and i have been going to a doc that specializes in high risk pregnancy (which i am not). my baby has consistantly been measuring a week small (since my 5th month) and they refuse to change the due date and has also been consistantly growing. her heart rate and movement are both great and there havn't been any medical problems with either of us so far. at my doc appt last week she said she doesn't want me to carry past 39 weeks because of the baby's size, but this doesn't make any sense to me. in my mind if she is a week small then she should stay in a week longer. if anyone has any advice please help!
