I'm 18 weeks and am surprised at what I am reading here ... c'mon ladies, we learn what to eat and do and not do to care for our unborn children, why don't we all research what we don't know about??? Benefits: ** Ultrasound imaging uses no ionizing radiation. ** Ultrasound causes no health problems and may be repeated as often as is necessary if medically indicated. Risks ** For standard diagnostic ultrasound there are no known harmful effects on humans Need we say more???

I am 41 years old and this will be my third child. I had 2 ultrasounds each with my first two children (now 15 and 11) with no effect whatsoever. I have already had 2 with this child and will probably have a few more with this baby because I am over 35. All of my friends and family had ultrasounds when they were pregnant with no effect. I don't believe that an ultrasound harms the unborn child in any way. I absolutely loved seeing my babies on the ultrasound and it lets me know that my new baby's heart is beating fine and that the placenta is not separating, etc.

I think ultrasounds should be limited. There is a possibility of harming the baby, and most people are not aware of this. My sister in law had about five when she was pregnant because she wanted them. I am having two, and that is plenty for me. I am really excited about finding out the sex next Tuesday when I go for my second, but I really want to know that everything is looking good in there.

I'm on my 19th week. Monday I'm getting the anatomy test, which is on my 20th week. Hopefully we are able to see the sex. When I found out I was pregnant, I felt shocked, but when I saw the first ultrasound I was so amazed and happy. Now my belly is showing more and I feel so warm inside knowing that my baby is growing inside me. I hug my belly and caress it. I get scared when I think of the labor but I see women have 10 kids and they are fine so that gets me through.

This is my first pregnancy and I'm quite excited about it. When I discovered that I was pregnant, I was so scared. Then I went for an ultrasound. I was happy and I felt the connection between me and my baby. Since then I'm happy to discover that my baby is healthy, and I started communicating with my baby. In my opinion, an ultrasound makes you feel more connected with your baby as you see them move, play and hear the heart beat. Even though you could feel those movements, it is also good to see them.
