I am working for a company that has 2 people working in each of its offices in the state of Florida. it's me and my boss which is a women but has never had any kids. I told her I was pregnant and she said I should have an abortion to keep working here or if she tells the owner of the company I might loose my job and it just wont work out because I'll have to be missing days. All I really do is answer phones and file and data entry I am sitting down all day. I did explain that I have a daughter and that I worked up to the night I gave birth at my other job she is just not understanding. Can this be right?

You cannot get fired for being pregnant but if they want rid of you they will find a way. Trust me. And the FMLA does not apply to a company of your size.

I think I would tell her that you don't condone murdering innocent children. I might also go over her to her boss if possible. That was a very unprofessional remark from her.

Call an attorney. Because of the comments that your boss has made, your company is in a bad position. Now if they do fire you, it will look as if they are firing you for being pregnant. Take notes of dates, times & comments made by this woman. You CAN be let go during maternity leave because the office is so small and does not qualify under FMLA. But ask yourself this question...Do you really want to work somewhere that tells you to have an abortion or lose your job? Doesn't exactly sound like a place I would want to be.
