This is a link to a national organization that also lists states. I am sure there are state run organizations as well, just be sure they have no affiliation with any daycare.

This site has things you should look for when choosing daycare and just bunch of other things you should be aware of when choosing. It's a good start, but please do your own research it is best tht you get information from many sources so that you can be as well informed as possible.

You can also use licensed in home child care providers.... I am in southern ONtario and work for a daycare centre that monitors me in my home.. we are registered and qualified and have to follow all the rules and regulations that govern city centres as well... we are only allowed to have 5 kids .... so the ratio is lower which means your child gets better care...

The National a__sociation for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) can give you the names of high quality centers in your area. They have a website where you can enter your zip code and they'll find them for you. Generally NAEYC centers are of the highest quality, but there are other good centers that don't go through the lengthy and difficult accreditation process.

I live in MD & the state has a licensing program. And there is a National Accrediting system but I'm not too sure how it works.

Day care is regulated by the state. Each state has its own rules and regs. If you give me more info about why are you asking I may be able to help you.
