FMLA Question Concerning Twins

I will be doing some research on this but just figured maybe someone might give me some info. I am having twins and in the state of New York I am ent_tled to 12 weeks off. Someone told me although that 12 weeks is for only one child and if I was having 2 then it would be 12 weeks for each child making it 24 weeks or 6 months. Does anyone know if this is fact or fiction before I go crazy looking for info. I would like to be prepared before I let my job know. Knowing them they would steer me the wrong way.

My friend has 2 twin boys (now 12 mos) and when she went on maternity leave she only got 12 wks not 24 wks. She lives in MN. Not sure though on what laws applies to you if you lived in NY. You should visit this website www.laborlawtalk.com then under maternity leave you should be able to ask q's and get some answers.

It's complete fiction. FMLA only covers 12 weeks no matter what the illness (including pregnancy and childbirth).

From what I know and what I have read and I presently work for Governemtn agency... The FMLA law is only for 12 weeks whether you gave birth to 1,2,3 or more children or if you adopted children... you get atotal of 12 weeks upaid leave to secure your job.

and FMLA only applies to businesses that have at least 50 employees - of you work for a small business they dont even have to give you FMLA
