Tips On Transition Please

Hi, I'm going back to work in January (early to ask I know) and my son is going into full time nursery. Its a good nursery and I liked it as soon as I saw it, but I want to make sure we have the best transition possible. Any experiences or advice that might help would be gratefully received? Not just for the boy please but for me to. I'm looking forward to going back to work, but gosh I'm gonna miss him. x

I think it is more of a transition for us than for the baby. My little one was in daycare since he was 6 weeks old and he is now 3. He doesn't know any different. He likes the routine of going to "school" as we call it. If you find a place you like and trust it makes your life easier. I love my daycare and I don't worry about him during the day. I know if there is a problem they will calla and they do. It was hard for me the first week because I worried, but I had to work for the money and insurance. Now I couldn't imagine not sending him there. He has learned so much more than if he was home all day with me, plus he has the interaction of the other kids. Just a thought for you.

I was worried that I'd miss ds too much also. But, I found that going back to work and having a routine and structure to my days was good for me emotionally. I see him interacting with the other babies and having a good time so I feel better about it. I really like and trust my daycare and the send me pics of him on my cell phone during the day. I look forward to seeing my little baby at the of the day and appreciate him that much more!
