Waiting Or Not

I am 21 years old and my husband is 20 (about to turn 21 this month). We have been married for 1 1/2 years almost 2 years. I have been wanting to start a family for a while now, and he wants a baby too. I am still in college and work part-time, my husband has a full-time job making good money. My parents want us to wait until I am finished with college before we have a baby, and I don't know what we should do?

I can't really tell you what you should do but from my own experience I'd wait until your at least almost done with school. I'm 21 and I got pregnant when I was a senoir in high school. Luckily I had good teachers and I graduated right before I had my son. I had planned on going to college but after the first semester I dropped out. Not because I couldn't do the schooling but because it was too hard to leave my son and then come home and still not be able to pay attention to him because I had homework. My friend had a baby and only had a year left of school and it has been very very very hard for her to finish and it's delayed it to another year for her. So I would say just time it so you could maybe have the baby as soon as you finish school. My husband and I got married before my son turned 2 and we've been trying to have another but our last two attemps have failed, so I know what the waiting game feels like. It stinks. We've delayed it and delayed it due to certain things but it all will work out in the end. Just wait. You'll want to give your little one everything and finishing school will help you do that. Not saying you can't finish with a baby BUT you will have more time with your baby if you wait a little longer. We're young we have plenty of time. Good luck.

Thanks, I only have two years left of college unless I decide to get my masters degree. I had been on birthcontrol since I was in the 11th grade, and now I have been off of them since September 2007. How long is it going to take before I get pregnant?

Well it depends on whether or not your cycles stay normal. My sister in-law was on bc pills for 11 years and when she stopped her cycles were all off. But it doesn't take but a couple months for it to be completely out of your system, but you could still convieve after you quit taking them a lot easier. So that said the only reason it takews some poeple a while to concieve after coming off bc is because they don't know exactly when they are going to ovulate. But she got pregnant six months after stopping the pill. Anyhow I almost didn't come back and check your post lol but then I did so if you have anymore questions you can e-mail me....jenniferturchin domain is yahoo
