Hey All, I am 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first and some of these posts are killing me!!! 30 too old? Dear Lord! I am just curious where many of you are from? I see from dates past that girls as young as 14 are trying and others who are 19, 20 and 21 are already expecting! What ever happened to growing up and learning who you are as a person before popping one out yourself? IDK maybe it's a regional thing? To each his own I guess.

Who do you think you are to judge people you don't even know? I'm 21 and have a 9 month old and pregnant with my second. Based on that, please tell me what kind of person you think I am. Since you seem to think that you know what you're talking about. I really want to hear it

Haley, I myself wonder what I was thinking at the age of 20 having my son. I have to admit in my personal situation I was not fully ready, do I regret my son, not at all but I personally wish I had been more mature. As for others who are in there 20 ish area. Some are ready. They are in that time and place in there lives where a family is not a bad thing. And they have reached there goals in marriage and income and are ready to start a family. (this does not apply to 11-17 year olds.) I myself wish I had been more like my 32 year old husband who went to college, took his time and before we got married bought a 5 bedroom house, has a 80,000 a year job and a very nice car and a college degree. I have me my 30000 income, my affordable car and my son to bring into our marriage. THANK GOD he had the time to grow and see my son as a boon instead of a nuance. And now at 30 I myself am ready to start again. Though at 30 I am a bit more afraid of the effects pregnancy will bring on my body. I had no problems being pregnant at 20. Easy as easy could be. Now at 30 where I ache on some days just sitting at the computer all day well...... I am hoping it will go just as smoothly. Though I doubt it. There are good and bad to all situations. I will experience both. And if you are so young that you have to get upset over someone and be rude instead of trying to help them to understand your siduation then you are just verifying that you may have been to young to have a child since you do not want to handle the siduation like a grown up. And being pregnant and emotional is a good reasoning but not an excuse.

lisa mc, Sorry I did not mean you in my last post. You truly are an example of someone who made herself and her family shine. Congrats on your degree. I hope to finish up mine one day also.

Haley - I get what you are saying. I grew up in an environment where women were to dream of growing up to get married and make babies. My mother did, my grandmother did, and so on and so on. I chose to do the career thing first and find that one person I would spend the rest of my life with . I have been looked down upon by my family for wanting the career first instead of child and have been looked at as an outcast. I'm now 32 and ttc. I certainly don't regret my decisions and I know I will be blessed with a child some day. I do find that in some places it is regional and encouraged, but in other places it is not. I have lived in many different areas so I do have some experience recognizing that. I think age is only a number and we mature at our own pace. For me to have a child in my teen years or even in my 20's - I would have not been emotionally ready let alone financially. This isn't to judge others who have chosen to have children young. More power to them! I only wish that the women on these threads could not get hateful with others. It shows a lack of maturity and an insecurity about their decisions. If you don't mind me asking, what is your age? I wish you and all the other women ttc the best of luck with you pregnancy.

I simply can't stand people who judge people they don't even know! She's throwing young moms into a stereotype. Just because a woman has a child young does not make her a horrible mom, and it doesn't mean that she's not intelligent!

What's ironic is that those of you who are bashing Haley are judging her for making an observation. She says to each his own and this to me is not a judgmental statement. She is merely observing that many women on these threads are young and thinking about or already are pregnant. Her wording may not be as tactful as we would like, but it is only an observation.

It's not an observation though. All she knows are the ages of these women. She posted another thread asking women of these ages if they were even married or graduated high school. In a nasty way I might add. To me she's a__suming a young mom must not have a high school diploma.. Every person is different.

Proudmommy - you are right; every person is different. I did not know about the other thread where she posted. It's sad that as women we cannot be more supportive of one another regardless of age. As I stated before, I'm 32 and am ttc. I certainly don't regret any of my decisions in the past. My S-I-L's were young when they had their children and they envy me for waiting...deep down I envy them. I guess we always think it is greener on the other side. We are all different and have different circ_mstances that surround us. If you don't mind me asking, how many children do you have? I'm one of 7 and always wanted a big family, but since I'm starting late, I'll take how ever many I'm blessed with.

Pba74 ~ I have a 10 month old son and pregnant with my second. I am one of 4 and I too want a big family. My dh is an only child and he also wants lots of kids. I hope you get your BFP soon! So do you want a boy or girl?

congratulations!!!! That is awesome. You are going to have your hands full! LOL...I've had 2 m/c so far and at this point I'll take either one...boy or girl. I'm just praying for a healhty child. My husband has had a heart and kidney transplant and currently being considered for another kidney transplant as it is not doing so well. He spent a lot of his life in the hospital so I want to give him a healthy child. I have 5 brothers and one sister...boys seem easier but I'd like to have that litle girl too. Do you know what you're having?

Not yet! I'll find out between 18 and 20 weeks. I don't care if it's a boy or girl as long as the baby is healthy. It would be nice though to have a girl because we do have a boy already. But I'll be happy either way! My first pregnancy ended in m/c and it was the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. I took it really hard. I hope that you don't have to experience that again, and I hope that everything works out for your husband. I know what you mean about having a little girl too. Every time I hear the song "I loved he first" by Heartland and I can't help but wish for a daddy's girl! Have you ever heard the song?

These days arent any diffrent form a long time ago. My great grandmom was 15 when she had her first my grandmom was 14 with her first my mom was 19, my aunt was 19 i was 19. Maybe 14-17 is young but mistakes happen as long as that person trys their best at taking care of them isnt that all that matters? Now i understand where some young moms dont care and leave the kids with their parents all the time, but there is alot of good young moms out their. I know that i ahve grown up and i know who i am 30 isnt that much diffrent then my age (23 now). Besides like my aunt had so many problems by her 30's she cant have anymore babys (not saying thats all 30 year olds) but if your healthy and can support a child why not!

Im sorry if it sounded like i think 30 is too old to have a child cuz it most certainly is not. I think its fine in your early 40's. My boyfriend is 36 and we are trying to have a baby now it will be his first

Times have changed. I had my daughter when I was 18 and am now expecting #3. I am the only one out of all my friends that is married and has children. Seems that women are waiting to begin a family, so I don't think there is a too young or too old. Age is but a number. It's your maturity level that determines if you are in fact ready to begin a family or not.
