I know exactly what you mean. I am doing that now with my 9 month old. I wanted to b___st feed till he was 12 months or longer if he wanted but I soon changed my mind after he got 2 top teeth and 2 bottom teeth. I scolded him for bitting and that quit but his teeth just seemed to press down. He hates the bottle and doesn't really like the sippy cup. I started using the sippy cup without the spill proof part so he gets the idea about the cup and then I started taking 1 feeding away per day. We got down to 3 and things were going pretty smooth. Now I am about to pull my hair out and we are doing no Breast feeding. He follows me around screaming and he won't take any kind of nap. I finally had to just leave him with his cup of milk and let him cry. After about 1 hour he picked up the cup, drank the milk, burped and started playing. You just can't imagine the joy I felt when he stopped crying and picked up the cup. Good luck and congrats!!

EXCUSE ME!! I was told by my pediatrician that i could not take my baby off the b___st until his one year old birthday, i am following doctor's orders and your doctor may have a different protocol, but you should not a__sume that mine and yours are the same, you were rude to give your answer in the tone that you did.

Try to continue with the b___stfeeding, as nursing after a year has tremendous health benefits. When he bites, try just giving him a firm "NO" and explain that it hurts Mummy when he bites. It will only take a couple of no's and he will soon get the message. Be gentle with him. Nursing is his comfort and security as well as his way of showing how much he loves his Mummy.

Im in the same situation. My daughter just turned 2 yrs.old, I still nurse her several timea a day and during the night twice, usually. I want to get pregnant and know it would be easier if I stop nursing my daughter. She is NOT ready to stop thought. I know it going to be really difficult. I dont regreat nursing so long. never been sick nor been on any antibiotics. very healthy child, especially since she was born 6 weeks premature.

Apply "Thum" to the nipple area...it is a stop nail biting ointment that is safe for baby and b___st. It worked for me instantly!

Hi, My daughter has just turned 13 months old, and I have been trying to ween her for about 2 months nw. It has been 5 days since I have given her the " b___b" . She takes a sippy cup and has np oproblem with the cow milk but she still has a fit whenever I don't let her nurse. This is getting embarra__sing because now she tries to pull down my shirt or grab me in public, she cries and calls me b___b instead of mom. She has tried to maul my mother, sister in law, and even her uncle by grabbing them when they pick her up[. She even tried to get into her 6 year old brothers shirt. I have tried everything from gradually decresing feedings, to cabbage leaves in my bra to cover the smell of milk. I have also tried antihistamines to reduce my supply, but nothing has helped.
