Hi nm, out of curiosity, could you please tell me how you handle mj around your children? Do you hide it from them or do they know your stance on it? Knowing that it is often times a "gateway" drug, would you be upset if your children started using when they were teenagers? I'm not judging you or anything I'm just curious what your thoughts are and how you think you would handle the situation. If you're wondering, I personally don't use mj. I tried it when I was a teenager and didn't care for it. Many of my friends who did use it went on to become crack heads and junkies so I was really cautious around anything of the sort. I'm not blaming the mj, they made the choice to escalate their use of drugs and their home lives had a lot to do with their choices. I'm just wondering about your opinion about the other scenario.

I have had 2 home births both of which I had no pain relief at all, and even if I did it is LEGAL! I had a midwife deliver the babies because they are professionals and would know what to do it anything went wrong. Why are you keep repeating yourself about home tutoring your kids and how many you do have. I don' know if I could manage 6 kids cos I've never even tried, noone would know unless they have been in the situation. My children do not go to school yet so no - they are not at school for the majority of the day. Even when they do go to school it is for 6 hours a day. 6 hours out of 24 is not most the day. At least get your math right! Nowt like b__wing your own trumpet is there. All we can do is our best, noone is the worlds greatest mother. So how about getting off your high horse for once and taking a look at the real world, not the doped up one you are living in at the min.

for "p", who asked straight questions, i will give straight answers. i have ocd which normally would require me to be on a high dose of an ssri. ssri's cause sweats, tremors, and a lack of s_xual desire. i did the ssri thing for a while and hated it. then i tried mj. mj calms my mind. i don't get bonked out stoned. i take one hit just a couple of times throughout the day. it is very mellowing, but does not render me couch locked. my eyes don't even get red and slanty like you're probably imagining! what you people don't realize is that mj really does have a lot to offer. youhave it ingrained in your head that it's a bad "drug" ranked right up there with crack, but that couldn't be further from the truth! it is a natural herb (and contrary to what some think or claim, suppliers do not lace the weed with anything, it'd be a loss of money for them!). and i do not meet some shady character downsome dark alleyway to get it either. i get from a friend whos's also a wonderful member to society. as for what i do with my kids, i don't smoke in front of them, but they do know what it is. they know it as medicinal in nature. we intend on teaching them all about it as they grow older. we will teach them that it is a naturally growing herb that when smoked has wonderful effects on the mind and body. just as we teach them responsibility with a car we will teach them responsibility with mj. i do not consider it a "drug". it is an herb made illegal by this country b/c of scared and ignorant law makers. how can they keep nicotine legal and not mj? nicotine gives me a quicker and nastier buzz than mj and it is loaded with nasty chemicals that will kill you if giventhe chance. mj has no chemicals and no bad side effects on the body! you won't die of an overdose or have cancer in 10 years. do you realize that imj helps many people come off the ssri's like me? it helps cancer patients with their pain and lack of appet_te. it helps arthritis patients with their pain and stiffness. montel willaims uses it for his pain! he is an advocate for legalization! is he a dark and menacing member of society? should his kids get taken away from him? see, you're image of a pot smoker is warped. we're not the drug addicts you picture rocking in the fetal position in the corner. we're not crack heads or trash. i bet if you met me and didn't know about my mj use, we'd probably be friends! you're being ignorant and judgemental and prejudice. and also, dd suffers from juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and she will probably be the first one i would allow to use mj because of it. right now i have to pump her with all sorts of medications that i know are no good for her in the long run, but it's all i have for her right now. i'd much rather hand her some mj. just like teaching them how to responsibly handle a car or a job, i will also teach them how to responsibly handle mj. i fit is abused, they will be reprimanded. see we're users, not abusers. there is a big difference. and why i keep mentioning my home situation is b/c i am trying to make a point that is obviously lost on you. i am a functioning member of society and a dedicated mother. THIS is the bottom line. and i even have more accountability than most b/c i have the school district to answer to 5 times a year so if i were neglecting or abusing my kids, they'd know it! i'd actually get away with less then the normal parent b/c i am so closely watched! so the fact that i am kosher with my school district and the fact that my kids are doing so well PROVES that mj is not a hinderance, if anything it is a help! why don't you surf the net and do some intelligent research on mj? you can start at NORML.com. it is an organization for the legalization of mj for medicinal purposes. it has a lot of good info. curb your ignorance and open your mind to the truth.

Marijuana aside... Wow. Your posts are too annoying to continue reading. Seriously, your rants are the same in every post. You are so ignorant and arrogant to think that your children are getting a better education, just because you home-school. Given that you are doing the HS, it would not be an understatement that your children are probably lacking in social skills and intelligence.

to livsmomma - June 26

Way over your head... I was OBVIOUSLY referring to the fact that SHE is doing the HS therefore, her kids would be better off in a public school. Now for the real insult to HS kids. They tend to be weird. Yes, WEIRD.

to livsmomma - June 26

Oh, and direct me to a scientific study that shows HS kids to be more intelligent than children who attend public or private schools. Did you make it up or is there hard evidence to suggest what you stated?

to nm - June 27

why are you using foul language in every single on of your posts? it doesn't make you look big or clever.

to nm - natural mommy - June 27

So the school disctrict is not good enough to teach your children, yet they are qualified to judge your ability as a teacher/parent? You use them as an attestment to the fact that your children are not being abused, as if they are qualified in that department, but not the other. Also, MJ IS A DRUG!! The mere fact that you disagree on that point renders you INCAPABLE OF BEING A DECENT TEACHER TO ANYONE.

to nm - natural mommy - June 27

also, who can read your pathetic novels that you rant off on us? they are tiresome at best and if you would make your point in fewer words, without all of the jibberish and foul language, perhaps we would read more closely. somehow I am sure that I would not feel differently about you.

pick a name and stick with it hippee. too stoned to remember who you are?

livsmomma - June 27

thanks for the hippy compliment but natural mommy and i are two different people, moron who can't even come up with a screen name...

Hmmm... Which name shall I be? - June 27

Will a screen name make a difference to your ignorant a__s? You have no ident_ty yourself. Oh wait! You're livsmomma! Like anyone cares about a screen name, as long as it is consistent. Those (like yourself) who think using an actual name will make their post more legit are strange.

livsmomma - June 28

it has nothing to do with validating anyones post, its simply easier to point out which idiot is which when you have a name to refer to...

to livsmomma - June 28

I'm sorry you feel that the only way you can get through to people is using foul language and shouting! Now we have an idea what your kids go through, them poor things :-(

nm - June 29

no, the school district is NOT capable of teaching my kids and it's not b/c of the individual teachers, it's b/c there's too many kids per cla__s and i don't like some of the curriculum. isn't a one on one approach better than a 20 on one approach? it's simple numbers and a matter of common sense. can you handle that? and yes, they are capable of evaluating my kids b/c the achievement tests they have to take are based on ALL of their peers across the country. it isn't personal opinion. AND ihave had several therapists and evaluators in my home and they all thought i was a wonderful mother. i know i am a wonderful mother b/c my kids are great! they are obedient and respectful. if i was lazy, they'd be crazy. if i was mean, they'd be forlorn. if i was slacking, they'd be behind. you're just desperately searching for something to hit me over the head with, but you have NOTHING! you think i am posting under different names, you nitpic about my cussing, come on. get real. and i don't think you have yet answered me, you claim i do not take good care of my kids, but could you do what i do??? i am accountable to my state, so i can't be doing too bad of a job! it just so happens my state isone of the hardest to home school in. they hold very high standards and i have met, and exceeded, every one year after year. not bad for a stoner, huh? and yes, i am a hippy! :-)

...and i'm sorry you cannot keep up with my posts, i enjoy the english language and use it to express myself, had i known i was talking to an imbocil who could not keep up, i would have used smaller words and made shorter replies, like this. i just thought maybe you were really out for information, my bad, you're only out to breed nastiness. so i'll keep my posts shorter so you can keep up. no problem.
