HI ladies I had a c section about 5 years ago with my first because he was breech. I was thinking that I would try for a VBAC, but I did not know anyone who has done it. So if you have done it will you please tell me how it was for you. I know that there are some risks to it but I think that I would like to try it. Thanks ladies.

I too had a breech baby (my second) and needed a C-section (first baby was v____al). I recently had my third baby and had a successful VBAC. I researched EXTENSIVELY and got a second doctor opinion that confirmed my chances of a uterine rupture were extremely low, so I felt good about trying it. Medscape.com had some great articles if you want to research there.
If I remember right, the chances of uterine rupture are lower if you: are under 30, had a previous c-section because of breech (not other pregnancy complications like failure to progress or something), are at least 24 months past the last C-section, had a double layer closure on your uterus when you had the c-section, have had no more than 2 c-sections, do not get induced - especially not using prostoglandins to soften the cervix, although Pitocin is also dangerous; and your baby is likely to be under 9 pounds (although I was still able to VBAC and my baby was almost 10 pounds!). The VBAC for me was wonderful. I went naturally and it was so nice to have full use of my legs again after the birth. I felt really good and recovered very quickly, unlike my C-section where I had several complications and healed slowly. The VBAC experience was everything I hoped it would be.
Whatever you decide, I hope it turns out good for you! Best of luck.
(As a side note, this third baby also started out breech but the doctor was able to get him turned this time, unlike the last one where I had to get a C-section instead.)
