Ok, I was planning on losing about 20lbs during delivery because that's how much my mom lost during each of her deliveries. After pushing 4 hours, I was wheeled down the hall for a C-Section. I was sent home 3 days afterwards and stepped on the scale for the first time, I only lost 9lbs!!! The baby weighed 8lbs 13oz, what about amniotic fluid, placenta, etc?!? Why did I lose so little, and my belly does seem to get smaller everyday, but it was really big when I first got home. Is this all normal, how much weight did you guys lose after your c-sections?? My doctor told me I have to wait 3 months to start doing crunches!!! Needless to say I'm eating very very healthy now, no junk whatsoever. My c-section was January 21st.

I stepped on the scale at my one week postpartum appointment and was surprised that I had already lost close to 20lbs. I still need to lose 8 more to get back to my prepregnancy weight. I think I lost it so quickly because while I was recovering in the hospital I didn't eat very much. (Hospital food isn't exactly appetizing). Once I got home, my appet_te had decreased so much that I only ate when I was hungry and my portions were much smaller. My problem isn't so much my weight, but more with the lose skin around my stomach. My doctor told me that I would have to wait 6 to 8 weeks before I could start exercising again. It's only been three weeks since the c-section! It's torture because there are days when I feel like I have a lot of energy to work out but I have to sit around and wait another three weeks! Oh well. Good luck to you! By the way, how are you healing? My incision still hurts every now and then. My only complaint is that I have pain in my bladder when I pee. I've done some research about this pain and I guess it's pretty normal after c-section. Are you experiencing it?

i had a c-section on the 20th jan. it was my fourth child and my first cesarian. ive found that my weight stayed on at first also - much more than with the other three - and my stomach has taken a lot longer to go down - i think we just have to be patient and concentrate on basic exercises like pelvic tilt and pelvic floor exercises to try and get everything back into place first before trying to sweat away any unwanted pounds. its really important that you do this if you want to return to feeling your normal self

I went into the hospital weighing 302. When I left five days later, I weighed 270. I couldn't really eat the hospital food, but I think most of what I lost was water.

each person is different. I only gained 15 lbs with my fourth pregnancy and 1 was 10 lbs below my pre-pregnancy weight just 2 days after delivering. my little one weighed just under 6 lbs. Mind you I kept myself in really good shape and ate healthy...it definitely helped me to stay +'ve.

I gained 45 pounds total during pregnancy and as of 6 weeks post C-section I've lost 35. I lost about 20 lbs in hospital but came home so distended that it looked like they forgot to take the baby out. Initially I had no appet_te and I do think b___st feeding has helped with weight loss and shrinking of my uterus.

When i finally got up and could walk far enough to the scale down the hall (2 days after my c-sec) i had given birth to a 6 pound baby and only lost 5!! I realized after that being on the IV for three days did not help and i had gained almost 10lbs in water since arriving at the hospital. I lost it within a few days of being home and eating and drinking normally. Good luck!
