Hello everyone. I had my surgery to remove my endometrioma but unfortunatly I dont have alot of info about it. The doctor didnt come talk to me after the surgery. What I do know is that it took approx. 1 hr for the surgery. It is quite painful right now, 2 days post op. I am hoping by next week to be able to say that I am great. I have 3 children 2, 3 and 5 it is a little difficult caring for them thank god for family to help. Anyway I am going to lay down for a while. I will post again when I have more information and hopfully it is all good!

Hello everyone, I can't believe this is the first time I have ever seen this website. I wish I would have heard all of your stories 2 years ago. I too have been having pain in my c-section scar, only during and right after my cycle. The pain was so severe at times, I would cry. I finally just had surgery 2 days ago after trying to tell my doctor for 2 years how bad the pain was. He thought I was nuts because I had multiple ultrasounds and they were all negative. He finally agreed to surgery. The surgery, he said was only going to take 20 minutes and that I would be back at work in 5 days. Well, the surgery took 2.5 hours and I am now off 4-6 weeks. My endometriosis was into my abdominal cavity and they removed so much of the cavity that they had to replace it wih mesh. Well, 2 days after surgery I am still in alot of pain. It is much worse than my c-section was. My doctor said that it was hard to diagnose because it is rare, but after reading all of your stories, it must not be that rare. I was wondering if anybody knows how hard it is to get pregnant again. My doctor said that he only found one little spot on my uterus and he removed, but all of mine was in my scar and abdominal cavity. If anybody has this pain, please mention endo in the c-section scar to your doctor, because I know the pain and how bad it is. Nobody should ever be in pain like that and the worst part is, nobody believes you because it so hard to diagnose. Good luck to everyone!!

I have been trying to print this website out but I can't get it to print in a clean format. I started a Yahoo group for stomach pain relating to Incsionional Endometrioma. Please feel free to join. Hopefully, we can get the word out about this terrible medical condition that we all have suffered for. Here is the link : http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Stomachsupport/ Nicole

I apologize it is not linking properly. You can log into yahoo groups and do the search under stomach support. Or take the dash out of the yahoo area. Or email at stomachsupport at yahoo dot com.

Nicole03 - Yep, 4 hours, total, but I think that was in large part due to him calling in one of our trauma surgeons who is an expert in abdominal repair. He said he would page him if he ended up having to excise into the fascia and repair with mesh, just to make sure he did it perfectly. I'm sure they ended up waiting around for the second surgeon to show up. Like yours, my OB is also very, very good (chief of the OB service at my hospital, lots of experience), and said he'd only done one or two similar surgeries during his career. Go figure. Anyway, in terms of the recovery, you will most likely not be able to do anything for several days, so if you are at home with your kids, you need to plan on someone else taking care of them. My husband went to work and took the kids to daycare that week, so I got to sit around by myself and do absolutely nothing, which was probably just the thing to do. Everytime I tried to do more, I felt like it set me back a half day or so. Point is, take it easy. it's major surgery, especially if they have to excise into the fascia. Good thing was they went right back in over my old c-section scar, and you can't tell at all that I ever had the second surgery. I can totally relate about the pain prior to surgery. I never really took anything stronger than Aleve, because the other stuff never helped anyway. Near the end, I was totally wiped out by the end of the day just from coping with the pain. Work was bad enough - I can't imagine being home with a bunch of little ones that whole time! Let us know how your surgery goes - good luck!

Hi Robin!! Hope you are doing well after surgery. take care and be well!! Lori :)

Robinchk - February 14

Thank you for the well wishes Lori. I am now 5 days after my surgery. I am feeling good the pain is getting better. Mostly I am just tired. My stomach is quite swollen, almost 5 inches between the b___ton hole and the b___ton on the pants I was wearing the day of surgery. Has anyone else had that much swelling, I look like I am pregnant. But the pain that I have gotten so used to seems to be gone. HOORAY!!

Suzanne - February 15

Robinchk - Congrats on your surgery! Now that you mention it, yes, I did have a fair amount of swelling (maybe not as much as what you describe, but yes, feeling a little pregnant is a good descriptor). I think I was back in my usual clothes though by the time I returned to work (day 8 or 9). I would guess your swelling will be going down soon, though obviously, you should give your doctor a call if you're concerned. I would say that I had some barely noticeable swelling right above the incision for a number of weeks. Nothing bothersome, though. Good luck - I hope you stay pain free!

Hi Robin, Glad to hear that pain is over hope it stays away!! Sorry your have to go through the swollenness ( Is that a correct word?)Good luck and take care of yourself and your stomach it needs time to heal!! Don't over do it!!! Lori

Hello everyone! Well I had my surgery one week ago and I am very happy to say that the pain I had is gone(so far). Aside from some swelling (still can't wear my normal clothes)I feel good. The surgery site feels like nothing more than a bruise. Don't give up whatever you do, I never thought that I would be pain free again!

Nicole03 - February 18

Hi there everyone. Robin I am so glad for you that your pain is gone!!!!!! I will pray that is stays that way! Besides feeling like someone is holding a hot iron to my stomach for the past week I am good becasue my surgery is scheduled for March 6th. So, we will just have to wait and see. I can't imagine any other pain being this bad so I am not really that nervous.

Wow! I am completly b__wn away that so many women seem to have this pain occur after mulitiple c-sections and it seems to be made worse by abdominal exercises. My Doctor seems to be pretty in tune with what is going on with me but I am at the "beginning process" of it all. I have refused anymore steroid shots because they hurt worse and leave these horrid bruises that are still there months after. I am hoping that none of this turns out to be the worst case scenario that some women have been diagnosed with (cancer). My heart goes out to all those who have been and I hope that I can just endure the pain and live with it. There seem to be no good options at this point. I b___stfeed my third child (8 months old) and am not willing to give that up for hormone treatments that also seem wretched. I just am putting my Faith in God at this point!

hi

F Safi - February 21

hi I have had my first c-section for my third baby over 2 months ago. I have some pain below my belly b___ton but above my incision line right across my abdomen. it is not a constant pain, but as soon I press down on it even lightly it feels really sore. I cannot even wear my pants wihtout some discomfort. Does this sound familiar to any of you ladies? Is it too early for me to be worrying about adhesions just yet? thanx

I had a c section 2 years ago & had constant attacks of pain on my left side every 3 mths the GP told me it was my ependics ???? It wasn't but WHAT IS IT ??? somethings not wright ! I still don't know & wait for my next attack !

I have been reading all of the emails on this forum and find that maybe I have an answer to the pain I have on my left side too. I had 2 c-sections the last one 22 months ago. I have had this pain in my lower left side that is usually worse during my period and ovulation but I still have a dull ache some other times of the month too. I have had 2 normal pelvic ultrasounds and now they want to do a ct scan of my abdomen and pelvis. The doctor thinks it may be my colon. I'm so sick of worrying, I feel like that is all I do these days. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. After reading all of your responses it only confirms my thinking that conventional medicine does not know enough about women's health.
