How long do you have to wait to use a tampon after a c-section? I am a little over 5 weeks and I stared my period and I HATE using pads.

My doctor told me to wait at least 6 weeks before using tampons only to reduce the risk of infection. He wanted to make sure that everything came out as it was supposed to. You should ask your doctor

my doc said wait until the bleeding stops completely following birth, and your first period (as long you've had atleast 48hrs break) you may use tampons again. My bleeding stopped at 4 and a half weeks, and i got my first period at 5 and a half weeks and was allowed to use tampons
