I don't want to bank my cord blood, but I definatly do want to donate it, should I just put it in my birth plan and talk to the doctor about it when I go over the BP with him, or what do I need to do so they can be prepared to take the blood

Hi, I am also choosing to donate the cord blood. You have to make arrangements to have it donated before you go into labor. I'm going through Cryobanks International. They have some forms that need to be completed between your 28-35 weeks. Their website is http://www.cryo-intl.com/enroll_donate.html (- between cryo and intl; remove any other dashes). Hope that helps.

Hi, when my son was born on 2/18/04 we thought about banking it. Last minute decided not to, but just to donate it to that it would help anyone that needed it. My son was too little (6# 13 oz) to get enough blood cord so they are going to use it for testing. So make sure that they can get enought to store if you decide to do that. Good Luck
