Banking Cord Blood

Hi! Diabetes runs in my family so I'm considering banking my baby's cord blood. Has anyone ever done this? Please share your experiences and which company you went with. There are so many out there I don't know how to decide. Thanks!

I ended up going with Cord Partners but there are a few out there. You just have to speak to a few of them

I banked blood for my last child born August 03. Used Viacord. Nice company--god hopes I never have to use it.

Would you say it is important to save the cord? are there any disadvantages?

Absolutely if diabetes runs in the family. Saving the blood could be SO so worth it in the end. We banked our daughter's blood after we found out that our neighbor's daughter was diagnosed with diabetes. We went with Cord Blood Registry and although the costs were overwhelming, they did have a payment plan. And they're the most experienced and financialy stable, two really important factors to us. Hope that helps!

we went with a company in California, USA called Cord Blood Registry although their lab is in Arizona.

Viacord - May 7

My friend used Viacord and it was under $150.00 a month to bank the cord blood. A good investment I think.
