my son's cord fell off after 6 days. it is now a soft pussie and fleshy wound. should I cover it with a band aid? He keeps urinating in that direction. is there a major risk of infection?

u should never cover it..covering it will only cause an infection!

call the doc- pus is a sign of infection; I suggest irrigation w/ mild soapy water until you get more instructions from a doctor

Do not cover it and put his little guy downwards when you put on the diaper. This way urine will stay away from the area. I know when my son was a baby I had to put his thing facing downwards too.
