I've had many different answers to the question regarding ingesting aspartame during pregnancy. Some have been that it should be avoided, other that it has no effect on the fetus at all, that in modeation it is okay. What is the true answer

Stay away from it. No one knows what it might do. Better safe than sorry. I don't let my kids eat it.

It depends if you regularly eat it, I myself am amune to it since I am a diabetic. It is difficult to stay away from things that you cant change.

My doctor always told me it is best to avoid the pink packets and use either blue or yellow instead...meaning Equal or Splenda. I think most diet drinks contain aspartame too so best to drink regular too. I doubt any real harm can be done by consuming a little bit though.

I found this at a website....it says Aspartame has no evidence of producing any risks to the unborn child http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=2862125&dopt=Abstract
