Do Big Moms Equal Big Babies

Who are you people trying to kid? It is a medical FACT that carrying a child when seriously overweight or obese is not only unhealthy for the mother but, more importantly, the baby. All of you seeking to spread the message that it's quite normal and no problem are dillusional and in denial (big bones, genitics, etc), you are just trying to make up excuses in an attempt to justify your own complete lack of self control. Try to think about what is best for the child that you are bringing into the world and not your own, I want, I deserve, me, me me instincts....Oh, and by the way, just because someone is within the medically acknowledged healthy weight range for the age/height it does not make them skinny.

Well done, Tell the Truth, I agree...What's all this "I'm a bit overweight (at over 200 lbs), but I can do whatever I want and if doctors don't like it, they are simply wrong" business all about? Are you mad? Jenny L is right, being so much overweight does have enormous (literally) consequences on both you and the baby you are carrying! I'm not saying being skinny is good, but being healthy is and at over 200 lbs, NOBODY is healthy even if they have no manifest health problems, rest a__sured, they are sure to come! (BTW, the size of the baby at the time of delivery is really not the issue here!!!)

you cant judge big people like that just because there big doesent mean they cant have a healthy pregnancy ime not big but i know some who are and pregnant had no complications keep ur nasty appinions to your self

hi all is it really dangerous to become pregnant why overweight what kind of complications would i have ime very overweight and have tried dieting but my weight is a problem ime scared what should i do i really want children

Em to no no - December 5

My opinions are not nasty and they are not opinions, haven't you heard the phrase coined by medical professionals that 'obesity is a dangerous epidemic'? Why do you think that is or do you think they only did that to be nasty?? All I said was that people that seriously overweight will most definitely encounter serious problems in their life sooner or later and that there is also a significant risk to the baby they are carrying..So, anyone 'big' out there, try to lose weight first before you ttc!

To Nico, in my opinion your best course of action is to consult with your Doctor and seek his/her advice on the safest and best way forward for you and the child that you so dearly wish to have..
