I have heard not to have honey whilest pregnant and am not sure if this is true as I am suffering with a cold and don't want to take any medicine, would rather have a hot lemon and honey.

Yes, perfectly safe to have honey while pregnant. However, you shouldn't feed honey to a newborn for some reason that I don't know:)

It is safe for you to eat honey, The reason its not safe to give a baby honey is due to a spore that can be found in the honey our digestive tracks will break it down but a baby's immature digestive tract cannot and can cause death or extreme sickness to a baby/infant.

You can have it, but you cannot give it to children under the age of one due to botchilism (sp)?

I had no idea about not giving honey to babies... good to know...I'm 7wks along and for the past week have been a big fan the the hot lemon & honey. Any suggestions for a pesky cough that just won't go away?
